One thing I dont understand about Kotchman is how the Angels gave up on him so easily with his dad at one time being groomed for the minor league player director. He's been with the Angels forever.... The Braves tried to pry him away also. Its not like Kotchman was terrible.

If I was an expansion franchise I would hire the Rays Jim Hoff to run my Minor League Operations with Kotchman being the director.
A Cuban slugger changed the landscape for Kotchman and Kendry will be a beast for years to come.

that and the fact that he was the biggest chip in their acquisition of teixeira. since they were bumped early from the 08 playoffs, it was tough to swallow but kendry definitely helped ease the pain :P

I'm happy for Casey finally getting to a place where he should play everyday. Was hard growing up with him to see him in a Boston uni and that deal never really made sense to me from either side. Now hopefully he gets the chance to put together a full season.

He's had 2 errors in his last 2400 or so chances, that blows my mind. I think he's at around 185 or so games in a row errorless at first, about 50-55 away from Youk's streak I believe

Never liked him in Boston, as he didn't contribute AT ALL to the team.

I wish we never traded LaRoche. :benson:

Are you kidding me? They gave him every chance to succeed and become and everyday first baseman. His dad could only take him so far. He couldn't stay on the field, and quite frankly when he did he did not hit. I never doubted the Tex trade, not for a second and I was ashamed for the many Angel fans that did. He had some serious attitude problems and if I remember correctly the organization didn't like the way he handled the whole mono situation. As far as the oldschool prospect debate (along the lines of Mauer vs. Morneau), I always thought Dallas Mcpherson would've been a better player, he just couldn't ever stay healthy.

Me too. :)

Prior to Kotchman going to Seattle, I was reading quite a few reports that LaRoche would be going there.

I don't think they wanted to pay LaRoche the money he is looking for...

Theo's stockpiling Outfielders.

You know what that means!

Now he's gonna trade Buchholz, Ellsbury, and Kelly for Gonzalez.
