Strange timing, but I guess once that moment comes upon an alcoholic that you have a disease and it's time to go get help- that time is right then, right there

The optics of this with regards to timing looks AWFUL

you would be hard pressed to find someone cheering him next time he's on the mound

Taking nothing away from his alcohol addiction and bravo for acting on it but man it doesn't "look good"

Good for him. Yeah, the timing looks bad to some people, but it's all moot if the Yankees don't beat Houston in the play-in game.

Maine of course......
Having seen the effects first hand (family member), there is no time like the present to do this. I wish him well in his recovery. I hope he makes it back to MLB (and the Sox take it to him ;)).

I really respect C.C.'s courage in deciding to enter rehab and get help for this deadly disease. I hope he has a complete recovery and comes back next year and has a good season for the Yankees.

He couldn't wait a month to do this?

they'll be sitting on their couch in a day so it doesn't matter he rushed to go to rehab.

OTOH, maybe CC should have channeled some David Wells... apparently a buzz makes you pitch better.

or Doc Ellis. Apparently it's possible to pitch a no-hitter when you're as high as a Georgia Pine.

And 100% agree with what Danny just said.
