This should be interesting.

-Card companies using the same photo of a guy through like 4 different card series
-The 35 year old prospects that sometimes get slipped into bowman products

Collectors/dealers that think they are of some great importance because of their cards.

People who overvalue their cards and try to get something for nothing with trade offers that are laughable ::facepalm::

This "hobby" is becoming more business driven (I.E. prospecting; quick flip) and less collector driven.

Although this is very true now, it was just as true in the late 80's as well. It's been a long spiral going on 20+ years now.

My dislikes, pricepoint.

There was a time where every man woman and child could bust the same wax. Now everyone has a nitch and a pricepoint. Basicly keeping the kids segregated from the quality stuff that has a shot of being worth anything. If the kids fall to the side, the hobby will be next. Obviously this is an opinion, and I agree there are some good things to be said of high end stuff. Yet, I just wish there was more good stuff for the kids.

First card of a player = his rookie card. Not four years in a row with a stupid RC icon on the card. The player is still a rookie, not the card.

Hype.

Idiots who sell back doored aka stolen cards. Idiots who fake patches and probably make more money than I do by being dishonest while I'm honest in my dealings. Idiots period, now that I think about it . . .

When people put cards up for auction on Ebay and say they are in Near Mint/Mint condition and they arrive dinged up and instead of them giving you a quick refund they don't respond to the Paypal Chargeback and make you wait 10 days before you can even send the card back for a refund. I'm going thru that now with a board members' Ebay Auction. Lucky me..... :(

Vets in Bowman...

"Ebay 1/1s"...

Associating the term 'rookie' with minor league players...

Ebay and paypal reaping the most profit out of anyone in the hobby...

Decline of the LCS.

patch fakers
trimmers
bad traders/dealers/scammers
card cos. flooding the market w/new releases every other week
high box/case prices making cards less affordable
the lack of variety in product offerings
redemptions that take f-o-r-e-v-e-r to receive
ridiculous stretches/interpretations of 1/1 (ex., 1/1 b/c it's the only 1 i have, 1/1 b/c 8-7=1, 1/1= jersey #, 1st card made, last card made, tuesday, just b/c, etc.)
lack of consistent ROI on products
dealers manipulating the market for cases...ex., dealer A raises his case price $200 just b/c 'some guy bought 5 cases', so dealer B raises his case price $200 etc...reminds me of gas stations/collusion

Faking patches.

People thinking their cards are worth "book value". Beckett's value's are irrelivent. Use eBay.

Courtesy. While there are a lot of "good guys" out there, there are an equal number or more amount of ********.

Redemptions. If you pull something out of a pack and then the company doesn't have it, isn't that false advertising ? Isn't there legal recourse that can be taken ?

Prices. No way in hell I wanna pay $80 + for a pack of cards. Especially seeing some of the "hits". I would **** myself if I purchased a "box" of two packs of '07 UD Black and pulled a Game Day Ticket of Mora and a Uggla auto /75.

Manufactured patches. Once in a while, they aren't bad (see the Topps WS style patches). But to drop a **** ton of them into higher end product (like UD Premier) isn't good business. They don't hold value and some novice collector's can get ripped off, due to them not knowing it isn't an actual game used card.

Beckett. In 2006, they could have avoided this whole RC debate by continuing to label Bowman Crome prospect cards as RC's. Save for a slightly different numbering system, they're the exact same as 2005 and previous BC offerings, which were classified as RC's.

Instead of doing the logical thing and continuing to label rookies as they had for 20 years, Beckett showed their true colors as spineless ******* and conformed to the retarded MLBPA 'rule.' Why they didn't give the MLBPA the proverbial middle finger - after all, Beckett isn't a licensee of the MLBPA, nor does the MLBPA have any legal authority over them - instead they caved and and created unneeded confusion and controversy, where there was little to none before.

So congrats, Beckett. You get my Hobby ********* Of The Decade award

People who diss on prospectors. Seriously, it's just like the stock market. Diss prospecting, diss the stock market too.

-dealers who spam your phone with texts about product you have NEVER bought.

-ebays buyers environment! i can understand keeping them protected but lets show a little respect and compassion for the sales force... you know the ones who pay your fees.

-ebays dsr... grading someone on a stated shipping cost the buyer agreed to is failure!

-sending paypal as a gift. it just feels dirty.

-ryan howard > albert pujols threads...

-bowman retreading their players set after set after set devaluing what i bought!

-milton bradley

-the glut of buy it now best offers on ebay!

amen
people who never played a sport but act like since they own a few expensive cards, that qualifies them to be the next scout for the Sox, jets, 76ers, wings

nothing wrong with being a fan and/or having an opinion but it's when people who haven't ever played the sport or coached the sport start getting into the technique part of stuff or the evaluation part that makes me giggle
