Kohls gives me $10 in kohl's cash to spend at a future date when I spend $50
Targets gives me 5% when using their redcard
Cub foods gives me discounts at Holiday gas stations for shopping at both
Roundy foods does the same
Josephs Bar and Grill gives me $20 credit for every $150 spent
I can go on and on if you would like...

But Kohl's gives $0 if you spend $49.

I see your point but many (not all) cash back programs have spending limits.

Bottom line

Right Now there is nothing out there that beats eBay as a site for locating a single card, set or box product for reasonable prices.

They are like any other business in America ... they're here to make money
and by offering a rebate to get people to spend more money in their establishment has been a tradition since the dawn of time. For example coupons that offer you $ 10 off any $75 purchase in their store (JC Penney). I dont hear people screaming bullXXXX on that.

Please - if you think eBay is such a crappy company - go find somewhere else to shop

I rarely spend the threshold, so I doubt I'll be earning anything either.A little bummed, but certainly not "outraged".I agree we need eBay more than they need us.Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

Exactly what??
He asked what stores give you cash back for your purchases.
I answered that kohl's gives back. He did not ask for restrictions or limits

So again, exactly what is your exactly comment??

It wasn't directly at you but more as informational to a lot of people who are complaining and saying places all give money back. I don't think it's unreasonable to have a small minimum because there are a lot of store which do. Other don't. Just think people are over reacting.

If I buy $100 on eBay, I'm not going to be PISSED over not getting a few dollars from eBay that I need to spend within a certain time frame. I mean it doesn't pay my rent or bills lol

$2 would cover your shipping on some cards, though!

not outraged here, just disappointed about the news but as a ebay shareholder I can see how they want to try to drive more ebay auction sales so people will spend $250/quarter to earn a certificate. I can also see how you are doing to drive some people away when it's not something like a trading card but rather a LED rope light or some other merchandise when the decision becomes buy it from ebay, amazon, an internet ecommerce store, etc. and that person may be ticked off enough with ebay's decision on the ebay bucks program to decide to show amazon or the ecommerce store more loyalty in the purchase if they all are fairly competitive in the price of the item delivered.

This will save them a boatload of money.

For everyone complaining really? I only get a few bucks each time so I will likely lose that but really its a couple bucks. Not the end all and be all of the world.

Smart move by eBay.

Great post. Some people are just overreacting IMHO. It might be hard for some to realize it but less than $5 every 3 months is not material on a one by one basis but as a whole, saving eBay tons of money and at some level. Might encourage some people to buy more. I won't change anything I do. if I get there, I get there. If I don't, that's OK. Not a big deal. I've had small eBay buck cert. expire before have used others for cool items but that's usually when their like $15 or $20, not $1.76 or something.

I'm certainly not outraged, but disappointed. For similarly priced [non card] items, I'll now just buy from Amazon since I'll get free 2-day shipping via Prime.

Yeah. It'll save them a ton of money because I would bet that thousands of people end up with under five in ebay bucks that they don't have to pay now. AND they will encourage people to buy more to get to that level.

I'm fine with it. I don't think I've ever got over 3-4 bucks anyways.

AND they said no more credit for automobile items or whatever, so they probably figured out that category has heads and tails more activity for the eBay bucks, so they just shut that down. I can see if someone has been buying those items exclusively from eBay and now has NO eBay bucks... that is WAY different than people b!tching about not getting a few dollars for their eBay activity every 3 months IMO.

actually the ebay motors has a different fee schedule than most of ebay. It does not cost as much per sales dollar to sell in those categories. Makes the payout for ebay less per dollar spent.
