"You are bidding on a lot of (10) 2003 Delmon Young Bowman Chrome Draft Autographed rookie cards.

Why anyone would want these cards is beyond me. Remember when he was the second coming of Griffey and this card was selling for $150 a pop? I bought a bunch of these then. Whoops.

Maybe he'll turn out to be something. Or maybe he's Ken Phelps. Or Ruben Rivera. Maybe he'll steal Joe Mauer's catching glove in spring training after he's released and this card will be worth a fortune.

Whatever

Looking at other Delmon auctions, do you think the sellers with near peak prices on his high end stuff are:
1) Still holding out hope
2) Absolutely will not sell at a loss
3) Ignoring the market

I don't understand why they would continue to list a card at such a laughable price.

all of the above.....

It is tough to swallow a loss like that. I am still holding some stuff that I just can't get myself to lose so much.....

~Did he not hit more homeruns in fewer games than David Wright?~ Now there's someone who's prices should be questioned. As far as Delmon, I'm glad I didn't buy into him.

You know, I feel that was a good deal for someone, depending on condition of the cards. No, Delmon hasn't lived up to whatever hype people put out there, but he doesn't stink. He just turned 24 in the last month of the season, and he's progressed nicely at the Major League level. He's got over 500 hits with a .290 average over 4 seasons. He had 13 homers in a full season 2 years ago, and 12 this year in exactly 2/3 of a season. His 5:1 K:BB ratio has got to change (it was actually close to 8:1 this season, oy), but if and when it does, his OPS will go up, and he'll get better pitches to hit for blooming power. Maybe he needs glasses or something. Sure, he's got a lot of PR baggage still, but time and performance can obscure that. If that happens, he's got a lot of upside from here.

I can't get myself to sell my spx auto jersey for a loss...I'd rather keep it for the memories. I'm kinda weird like that though.
