I thought this was a great idea for a site as they aggregate a bunch of low end cards in one place to theoretically make it cheaper to fill holes in your collection. I bought a decent amount 10-20 cards with the most expensive being $3, but most being in the under $1 category. I was a little surprised when my shipping total was $8.25 but figured they would be sending a box or something. Fast forward to receiving the package, and I got a bubble mailer with a stamp for $1.90 on it. Needless to say I was pretty upset, so I emailed them. They responded that I would have paid closer to $40 if I bought the cards from individual sellers on eBay so I should have been happy with the $8 shipping. Had these cards not been aggregated, I would have never bought them. They didn't address the underlying issue of marking up shipping a tremendous amount. I'm going into rant mode now, so I'll stop. I won't be using this site again and anyone who does should be aware of the shipping policies.

I use them quite a bit. I actually don't mind their shipping policy, as it's only $0.25 for each additional card. They use new penny sleeves/toploaders/teambags and ship in a very quick manner from my experience. I just factor the shipping into the cost I'm willing to pay, and most everything I've bought has been well below what it goes for on eBay.

I guess part of that may go into having high resolution scans of the front & back of every card and the added service of including a paper invoice with every shipment outlining everything in the package.

I'm sorry to hear you aren't pleased with your experience, but I think it's a great alternative to eBay.

Thanks for the heads up..
Yeah this happens on ebay sometimes as well
I bought 6 cards and thought I would get a deal on shipping and the most expensive
card was 3 bucks So I had 7 in cards and it was 11 to ship since it was
3 for the first and 1 buck for each after the first. I did not see that listed but WTF
so 6 cards cost me 18 bucks or 3 dollars a card ::facepalm::
Oh they mailed the cards in a Bubble mailer with 2 stamps on it for like .80 something cents.

I was not happy. I really thought about saying I never got the cards from them
since there was no tracking info on the package.

I do $3 flat shipping on all of my auctions and I get quite a few multiple-card buyers.

I feel that my shipping is fair. COMC's shipping seems pretty high.

The most I paid for shipping on a card was $18.. A new seller had been using UPS for work and thought he would just ship the cards via UPS as well..

I paid him the $18 for shipping and also sent him a nice long e-mail about using paypal shipping, bubble mailers, and that he could actually ship a card via priority which would get there in about 3 days for $5.. He didn't know anything about the USPS shipping since he never used them..

He thanked me and sent me an extra card in my package..

I agree with checkoutmycards, good luck finding the same number of cards you bought from one seller. And if you bought them from multiple sellers, your shipping would be similar or higher. The site offers great scans of the front and back of every card listed. Yes they are pocketing money on the shipping charges, but the charges are known to you before you purchase. I will continue using the site knowing the shipping charges are not exact and they pocket some profit from them.

I just bought a $5 card and a $6 card and paid $4.95 for shipping. I bet it doesn't come in an armored truck lol.

just the way it is. it sucks though.

Do they have different shipping prices for different cards? I bought 6 cards and my shipping was only $4.25 total.

Am I the only one who factors the shipping price into the total purchase price. If a seller charges 10 bucks for shipping and I am willing to pay 50 total for a card I will only bid 40. I could card less how it is shipped as long as it arrivess safely.

I do it all the time but the sad reality is... its why I don't buy a whole lot of cards on ebay anymore.Even if I win something for 99 cents every time I buy something its going to cost at least $4 after shipping.Pretty soon you find yourself paying $4 here or $4 there and then you sit back and realize you have spent a whole hell of a lot more than a lot of what you purchased is even worth.

I think COMC rocks and the .25 handling fee per card is great in my eyes. They're storing what is essentially tens to hundreds of thousands of cards and have to organize them and create an image of every card. I'm okay with having less competition on what is typically a better priced card and better shipping than I'd get on eBay.

I agree x2.

COMC is a FANTASTIC alternative to eBay. Not to mention I have picked up many cards from COMC I don't see on eBay. Plus, if you collect guys who may not have been superstars or are not from latest prospect/hot product, you can find a decent amount of their cards at pretty good prices.

If this was your first time buying, don't let it run you off. It is a set amount for the first card and 25 cents per card after that. Plus, part of the fee is that they will go through their inventory to find you card, use a new penny sleeve, toploader, team bag AND bubble mailer and THEN pay the employees they have.

My only complaint with them is that they DID NOT send all my cards in toploaders, but instead did two toploaders on the outside, every thing else penny sleeves and then a team bag. For the price I paid I would have liked everything in toploaders, but other than that, it was fine.

Oh and by the way, you do save a lot on shipping if you can buy from the same seller and not a bunch of different ones, just like on ebay.

Are you thinking of a different site? I'm pretty sure COMC
stores and ships all of the sellers cards, therefore they determine
the s&h charges.

Btw - Their site is down right now ::facepalm::
