I'll be making a trip from Ottawa to Oak Brook today for an appointment, and then going from Oak Brook to Zion via 94 to visit some of my wife's family. Any good card shops I can hit along or near this route, or at least in the general area? It's been a while since I've visited a good card shop. Thanks!

Chicagoland Sportscards is in Buffalo Grove. Its on Buffalo Grove Road just north of Dundee so it'll be on the way between the two. They have a wide variety of singles and good deals on wax. Best shop in the area.

You could go through Naperville before Oak Brook. Galaxy Stores / Chicago Cards at 1235 S Naper Blvd, Naperville, IL 60540 is nice.

Or you could go through Joliet to the south and stop at Matt's Sports Cards, 98 Barney Drive Joliet.

Jim and Steve's is cool - I go there when I'm up north. Been meaning to go soon, they have a card I need! You can check most their inventory on beckett.com to see if there is anything you need before going.

Sportsdome in Kenosha, just across the border, and 20 minutes north of Jim & Steve's up HWY 31 into Wisconsin. Nice clean shop, wax and singles available. Plus any supplies you need.

Pete, Sharbel, and Vera Maalouf are the owners, and very nice people to deal with. Tell them Ralph sent you.

Got a box of Select from Jim and Steve's. it wasn't a good box but it seemed like a good shop! I'll go back to both when I'm in the area.

Chicago cards in Naperville is in the process of being sold to another owner. They do have a wide selection of stuff but they are a bit high on the prices for their boxes but I really like the place.

Glad the owners could sell and retire.too.
