I for one can't believe how quickly the Yanks gave up on him. I would have thought that putting 2x 19 win seasons back to back would give a pitcher some currency. I mean look at the guys they pulled off the scrap-heap this year alone?

Quick?

He hasn't pitched with any sort of efficiency since 2008. He hasn't pitched more than half a season since 2007.

They let him go after over two years of nothing in 2009.

I just think they pulled the trigger too quickly for a guy who pitched lights out for them in the regular season
. How long do I think they should have given him? With an injury like that I'd say 2 years minimum. Just like elbow/shoulders sometimes take a bit to heal. It's not like the guy was making $18 mil a year, they could have just pulled a Kei Igawa and kept him in the minors a bit longer.
