As a Rangers fan, Chris Davis has been painful to watch the first two weeks of the season.
He's batting .167 with 14 strikeouts in 30 at bats!
2 of his 5 hits are homers, but he has 0 doubles.

The Texas offense is incredible, except for Davis, Blalock (.214 avg) and Saltalamacchia (.148 avg.)

Once those guys get going, the Rangers could be unstoppable, as long as the mediocre pitchers can keep teams to under 6 runs or so. :?

He has one of the most natural and powerful swings i,ve seen in a long time. He has the potential to be one of if not the best power hitter in the league. I think he is just trying to hard. Once the realizes that he doesn,t have to carry a team he will settle in a fall right into the pattern he had last year. He will end up being the best weapon on that team, watch. It is scary to imagine what the rangers could do with some decent pitching.

I agree with Sweetness... I was very happy that the O's beat them 2-1 in the series (pretty rough outing in the 3rd game - what was it 19-6???) Ouch!

I thought Elvis Andrus played well so far...

Davis and Alexei Ramirez were 2 guys that I wanted on my fantasy team.....it's still very early, but I feel fortunate that I only ended up with Alexei, because I don't think my team could have weathered both of their slow starts.

Ultimately I think they'll both pick it up and have at least decent seasons.

my team is weathering bot of their slow starts, but i picked up marco scutaro for a temporary fix. alexei ramirez struggles with the cold weather apparently. Davis is still in my lineup. i can't afford to carry another 3b (which is where i'm using him).

Anyone know if he is just a slow starter? Since he came up mid season last year this is his first opening week. He might just be nervous.

Also, I don't see how he would think he has to carry the team. There are all kinds of mashers around him. I would think he might think the opposite.

Let's get Teagarden in there!
Teagarden is doing even worse!
.125 avg., but he only has 8 at bats.

By the way, Chris Davis and Salty are both 0-2 tonight so far.
The Royals' Gil Meche is throwing a 3-hitter in the 6th inning.

You know, the whole team is in a slump, except Kinsler, Byrd and Andrus.
They're the only three Texas starters hitting above .300 now after the Rangers ferocious start.
Even Nelson Cruz is down to .270 after killing the ball.

I never thought he would keep up what he did last year, towards the end of they year pitchers figured him out and he couldn't do anything, and now I think you're seeing it this year, I just hope they can trade him now for a good pitcher instead of waiting until he's a .230 hitter with 20 HR's year in and year out guy. And I'm a Rangers fan...
