I know that it is Classic, but I have always enjoyed all the different inserts that they came up with and for $10, how can you go wrong. The difference here is that this particular box had a sticker on it. It said "Hot Box. Every pack contains an insert card." Cool, I had never seen one before. I suppose that retails would put those out and they'd be the first box taken by a lucky customer. I'd also have to assume that hobby shops would either bust them up themselves or pack them out at a higher price at the time. However it came to be, here was an unopened box and that asking price was $10! I grabbed it, not sure if this box was in fact a hot box or if that sticker was on every box. then I saw another in the pile of old wax. The other box didn't have the same sticker and it's asking price was only $7. Was it worth the extra $3 for the gamble. Yes it was.

I opened it up and the next surprise was that this box also contained two "super packs". Those packs contained nothing but inserts! I set those aside and started ripping.

Sure enough, every pack had at least one insert, but it was more like 2-3 per pack! 5 sport isn't my favorite and this particular issue didn't have much in the way of baseball potential, but for $10, I didn't care. I don't open much of anything these days, so 36 packs worth of ripping fun with inserts in every pack could not be beat.

When I finished the regular packs, I opened the two super packs. In one, mostly printer proofs came out. However, in the 2nd pack, it was almost entirely these blue signature cards that were hand numbered to 295. Pretty cool stuff for Classic, even if they probably aren't hardly worth the price of the box (Or are they? I have not tried to look yet.).
All in all, I ended up with the following:
$3 phone cards - 3
Standouts (Serial #'d to 1995) - 7
Strive for 5 game cards - 11
On Fire - 10
Fast Tracks (Serial #'d to 1495) - 13
Printers Proof (795 of each, but not serial #'d) - 23
Blue Signature (hand #'d to 295) - 10
Red Signature (1995 of each, but not serial #'d) - 12
But wait! There was one signature in each bot, GUARANTEED! I don't know if the hot box allowed me to beat the odds, but there were actually 2 autographs in this box. The first one i pulled was none other than Shaquille O'Neal! Not a bad score alone for the $10 cost. Several packs later, I was floored to find a 2nd signature, and not a bad one either. Steve McNair, the former Titans Quarterback who was murdered by his girlfriend in 2009.

Despite this being a Classic product, this is probably the best $10 box of cards I have ever purchased!
