No reason to let him pitch to Dexter when you have the whole bullpen at your disposal. You have to go for the kill shot right there if your the Phillies.

That's funny. I was thinking with all the jams he got himself out of tonight, they should have left him in.

I thought they were going to learn a lesson after watching the Cardinal's take out Wainwright. The wussification of pitchers continues. :P

What did he do wrong? He had Fowler struck out then got a ground ball to second?

Kulpa single handily let the Rockies win.

from where I see it is didn't really matter since
madisen gave up hits that lead to the runs even though Lee put a few on
J. Giambi singled to shallow left, D. Fowler scored, T. Helton to second
- Y. Torrealba doubled to deep center, T. Helton and J. Giambi scored

Fowler walked

Did you see the pitch tracker? There were three strikes.
look Yahoo? if so they still have the Bull 2-0 in preseason even though they lose Sat. to Milwaukee
and are now 2-1 so i would not believe yahoo at all.

The Helton fielders choice was influenced by Fowler being on 1st base. Rollins was blinded by Fowler and didnt see it to the last minute. Utley just goes to 1st there is two outs. No walk to Fowler makes that fielder choice an out at 1st. Two outs then....

How are you getting a strikeout ?

C. Gonzalez flied out to deep left center
- D. Fowler walked
- T. Helton reached on fielder's choice, D. Fowler to second
- B. Francisco in left field
- R. Madson relieved C. Lee
- T. Tulowitzki flied out to shallow left
- J. Giambi hit for G. Atkins
- J. Giambi singled to shallow left, D. Fowler scored, T. Helton to second
- Y. Torrealba doubled to deep center, T. Helton and J. Giambi scored
- S. Smith intentionally walked
- Y. Torrealba to third, S. Smith to second on wild pitch
- C. Barmes grounded out to third

yeah the strike zone disappeared with Fowler batting. I would rather have a tired Cliff Lee in pitching
than anyone in the pen.

While Madson failed. Charlie played it perfect tonight. No other move would've made sense. His 9th inning managerial decisions were perfect too. Thumbs up Charlie.
