What a big win to end a clean sweep weekend!

You beat Santana and have both Park and Lidge pitch the way you hoped they would and you gotta be stoked!

I know they overpaid for him, but Blanton is very under-rated and out-pitched Johan. Rollins returned to form too. All in all, a Phils fan has gotta be loving it!

Boy, the Mets just plain suck. What is wrong with their stupid GM? Can't he see they need some pop in that line-up. Really disgusting product the Mets are putting on the field for the last month.

I think the Mutts need to clean house in NY. I'd honestly would look to trade Reyes in the winter.

Reyes should have been traded a long time ago for a quality starter.

I would Demand a trade if I were in his position.

He should say something like that. It might get the GM or owners to do something.

I have to agree, compare any team in the majors to the Mets homeruns...without looking I'm sure the Mets are last. (I make this statement without looking in all honestly.)

If you don't hit the longball, your not going to beat other teams. I know all about small ball etc. But that is not going to work day in day out on teams with good defense. Lets face it.

Mets made their mistake passing on Dunn. He would have be a perfect addition to the team. A guy who hit 40hrs for the past few years. I bet the Mets don't even have 40 as of right now.

Terrible terrible. And the strikeout by Wright and double play balls, these guys are trying to do too much, taking bad pitches, just exposing themselves each game.

After posting and looking it up:

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/agg ... g&type=reg

Mets are dead last on HR's with 50 for the year. That is horrid. I'm not interested in hearing about the new stadium not being a hitters park. At this point in the season they played enough road games to hit them.

Yes their main HR hitters are on the DL. So is there no trades to be made in baseball ? I'm sure there has to be something we can put together. I don't think they need pitching. Yes their pitching isn't great, but you can't win a game scoring 0 runs. Not in baseball.

mets fan complain now, rightfully so how they have not made any moves, i have a funny feeling that there going to be even more pissed after the season when the mets do not make any moves in the offseason. i think omar feels that they would be contenders if they had all their players, so he will just bide his team and wait till next year. it is really is bad baseball to watch

No its the Twins who are the ********* for trading him to the Mets when it was clear the Yankees had offered a better package, with MLB Ready players.

Yea, I'm sure the Twins aren't to happy with that trade now. I know it was technically only a one year deal, but they could have gotten more. Either there scouts grossly overrated the players or the executives didn't listen to the scouts.

Even if the Mets hadn't lost anyone, I still don't think they would be anything. They would be better, but wouldn't compete. Perez was a horrible signing and Maine is not that good to begin with and always seems hurt.

Reyes was struggling before his injury and Delgado is getting up there in age so you have to expect some injuries or decline in numbers.

My point is that the team was built to have a high chance of failing. They have a bad farm system to boot, which has led them to struggle to find replacements.

wow, especially the way melky is playing now, that is far better than the mets deal

even without the way they are playing

it would have been an MLB CF (which they wanted) + MLB Ready pitcher (Hughes is clearly that) + another prospect (whether is was kennedy or whoever, it was not AJax so the deal should have been done)

Now the Mets side (Sure in hindsight they pretty mcuh all suck now but

Gomez is faster than Melky, but Melky pretty much is better everywhere else

Hughes > any of those pitchers

Call me bitter
