Codes on the back of 2011 Topps Heritage cards? What r they?

What are these for and where do you enter them in? I went to Topps to figure it out and could not determine what to do with them. I've had a couple people email me about a green tint I have listed on eBay and they have asked if it ends with "03" or "09"?

Do the codes identify the green tints? I never knew codes were on the back until I was asked about them on eBay.

Can someone help me out here?

Yes, you can use the code on back to verify tints. Codes that end in 01 are base cards. All others are either inserts or tints. If you have a regular player card and it ends in anything other than 01, it's a tint.

Huh...I must have missed that. If you come across it, LMK please. Funny thing is I have pulled the same green tint twice now, but no others.

So when is says "special", what does that mean? There is another code for tints. Is there anything special about it being "special"? I have Jackie Robinson #142 and it has the code listed below. Just trying to make heads or tails of what these things mean...


9911103 = Babe Ruth special #142 and 144
9911106 = Jackie Robinson special #135 and 141

codes are just for some new law put into place, just happened to be different for some of the sp cards in heritage

It's actually on all the Topps cards - my diamond sparkle Bautista has a different code than the base version.

Some of the "base" Babe Ruth story cards have a different code - they do not have variations ending in "01." As far as I know, the green tint Ruth should end in "09."

These codes are searchable in a topps datebase, its tells where and when the card was made and just recently
has been helpful in telling variations. There is a place in Dallas that topps uses for some cards and some other
cards are made as far away as China!
