Colby Rasmus' autograph

Check out his facsimile sig from his 2007 chromes, exact same as his 05 chome. Those facsimile sigs. come from the players rookie contract which was signed around the same time as the 05 chromes. Obviously his auto evolved over 4 years. I have no doubt the 05 chromes are real, no doubt at all.

I would listen to an argument that Colby completely changed his autograph, but evolved isn't the correct word.

Clearly, if the 05's are real, then there was a sudden and drastic change...Colby would have had to make a conscious decision to sign his autograph in an entirely different way.

Do you thing the Topps contracts are signed in person?

They are. I talked with someone from Topps at a game the other day. He told me they sign the contract in front of him.

He actually had funny stories about guys signing things. Some players have fallen asleep while signing, and they have to toss the card out because the ink pooled up on the card. :lol:

For all the Rasmus collectors it be would terrible if beckett did a story on this. Any question about the authenticity of the auto's would make the value of every single Rasmus auto tank. His auto'd cards would always be looked at with suspicion and the cards wouldn't be worth the value of the cardboard they are printed on.

It would make for a great story if someone took the time to detail out all of his cert autos and bring in expert handwriting to add some expertise to it. This has the potential to be a big story for someone. Maybe Gilmore could work on it and make a big slash with front page newsbreaking story for FCB site. Give this site some nice exposure.

I don't think so back then.
I think it's pretty recent that they now pay someone to sit and watch signings.

I bought a Colby Rasmus Topps Chrome Red Xfractor /65 from my buddy last night. He had all of his Colby and Cory cards together...

* I'm not an expert, so obviously I'm trying to convince anyone of something I don't even know...I just can't believe how close the early Cory and Colby auto's are and how different the earlier Colby's auto's are from his '07 IP's and '09 RC's....

in colby's bc auto there is one extra curve in the first name the cory's signature does and the line after the r is definately shorter and has a point in it but similar yes because the name begina with a co and end with a y for both
