Some really great stuff in here folks. I especially love the Will Clark signed RSVP.
Here are my additions:
A copy of this card is also owned by another member on FCB. That does not take away from how scarce the card it. We are pushing 6 years since a copy appeared at public auction. A very small handful of these out there. For those of you who are not aware, the orange cards were produced by the Charlotte Police Department. The cards were given out to children one or two at a time by the officers in 1980. This is not a stadium set with a production run over 1,000. I would say an estimate of 50 remaining in the hobby would be generous. That is just my opinion.
The following is a set of full tickets to the longest game in professional baseball history. Cal's Rochester Red Wings would play 32 innings against the Pawtucket Red Sox before the game would be called after 4:00 a.m. on Easter Sunday. A book about the longest game entitled "Bottom of the 33rd" was released last year. I was stunned when I found out that my website was mentioned in the book. I only know of one other complete set. It resides in a place called Coopertown.
Continuing the minor league theme, here is a Charlotte O's jersey (Not Cal's) worn during the 1980 season. Cal and the Charlotte O's would win the Southern League championship. I had the pleasure of interviewing Cat Whitfield for my website. Cat played with Cal and actually beat out Cal for the SS position in 1980. The only time Cal saw at SS was when Cat got married. The O's were preparing for a reunion and Cat offered to take my jersey to the reunion to get signed.
Cat even sent me his badge from the reunion:
