My first pack of cards were 1993/94 Fleer Ultra baskeball. My older step brother, who was a huge baseball fan, took me to Walmart and got me a couple packs and told me some of these peices of cardboard were worth money. I was hooked. I remember coming home from school, flipping through the satellite on my big dish and watching that loon on the home shopping network scream about ball cards. Oh, the good ol days.

Having grown up in the 1980s hobby, there were very few niches in collecting. Everyone that I knew either was a "vintage dealer" or "modern dealer". There wasn't much in between. I collected T206, Goudey, 1952 Topps, 1981 Donruss, 1988 Score, 1989 Topps and pretty much everything else :)
