As the 2010 baseball season winds down, what are your goals for 2011?
Are you going to budget for a nice new expensive card?
Look for that white whale or finish a set?
Reorganize and change your collection around?

For me personally, I try and keep my collection down to about 100 cards (besides my psa/dna rookies), and I am WAY over that, and it's time to weed through my cards and decide on my favorites and move the rest and make room for new product. I also will be collecting a few rookies that I think will do well for a flip for next year. I need to add a few more psa/dna rookies. This year the tough ones I got were Helton, Damon, and Biggio, and just need a couple more to complete that goal (i have every star player from 1980 to 1996 except for a couple which I JUST CANT FIND!).

My big purchase for 2011 that I will keep my eyes open for will be a Babe Ruth cut, if i can find a nice one at a low price.

Re: Collecting goals for 2011...

I'm down to he "hard" deceased HOFers
autographed baseballs now. So if I could
add 1 or 2 next year I would be happy.

I'm not even sure if there is anyone left to get besides Ruth

Finish Heritage (which I just completed for 2010!).

Actually send some of the boxes in my giveaway that have been sitting here for over a year. The cost is outrageous to send 30 200 count boxes.

Hoping to find a couple Chrome Supers to finish up my Chrome rainbows.

And find a GU Auto'd Jersey of Zimm. Started on full GU this year and have a bat, batting gloves, and ball so far.

I'd love a Babe auto, too. But i don't think it will occur next year.

I think I'll try to complete the T205 Yankees for 2011.

Re: Collecting goals for 2011...

1) Reach over 50 1/1's. I'm just over 30 right now so that should be pretty easy.
2) Complete my master 2010 Triple Threads set of Schilling.
3) Acquire my first button card.
4) Acquire a logoman card.

Finish my 1971 Topps set (less than 60 to go). Keep working on 1961 and 1966 Topps (at about 80 something % on both). Finish most of my Bowman Chrome auto sets (need about 4 to finish 2002 - 2006) and pick up the later years w/o spending much $.

Find more 2008 Topps U/H All Star jumbo patches. I'm stuck on 31 out of the 66 in the set.

Re: Collecting goals for 2011...

Weed out all my base/inserts/parallels...
Work on my EEE and Perk collections
Start to seal up my collections for the future, college etc etc.
Buy a NICE box of cards...
Buy a nice high dollar cert autograph.
Waste a bunch of money on a National Chicle retail case ( ::facepalm:: )
TTM a LOT!!!!!!!!! Like crazy. Watch the good prospects...
IP a good ton, get a Gopher team signed ball, try to add Rosin/Maytas to my other ball that I have...
Try to stray from the online card world. It is taking up too much time. I also really don't feel wanted here.

It's a lot, but it should be fun!

Re: Collecting goals for 2011...

1) Any 4 Clint Barmes bats I was able to buy 4 this year, and now have 6 total.. I'll need some Astros ones.

2) At least two of the following Barmes jerseys:
-Rockies black vest
-Astros Home
-Astros Road
-Astros Retro
I already have a white vest, and a grey.

3) 500+ IP/TTM autos, including:
-Mark McGwire on a 1991 Topps
-Albert Pujols on a 2003 Topps (and gold /2003)
-Prince Fielder on a HR celebration 8x10
-Clint Barmes on my ticket stub collection
-Tim Lincecum on a ticket stub, and maybe the latest SI
-Todd Helton, Aaron Cook, and Matt Holliday on my 2007 team pic

I'll be able to graph 3 Cardinals series, so I think everything on the list is possible.
