Haven't followed the Browns but was wondering what people's thoughts are seeing Colt McCoy in pre-season. He seems to be getting a lot of attention and folks think he could really brel out this season in the west coast offense. His stuff seems to be selling very well right now...

I Live in Cleveland and I would say that at this point I would not sell my McCoy cards. The new west coast offense should prove to be fun to watch as the season moves along. Anytime you've got the an base excited about the offense that's only going to increase the quarterback's value.

I don't think you'll see a huge jump in the sale value of Colt's cards. Barring any significant injury (which could happen to any player), I think you'll see his cards creep up in value. The Browns simply aren't good enough to be a real contended so you won't have a playoff race increasing Colt's sale value at the season's end.

If you need the money selling now shouldn't hurt you too much; however, I do think you'll profit a bit more selling mid season after a great game.

I invested heavily in Colt McCoy in the offseason. I don't think that it's a bad idea to sell some off now which is what I plan on doing, but I think there's still more potential upside so I'll sell some and recoup some funds and hold off on the rest.

I agree with Lisa, sell some now, especially high-end but wait until (IF?) the Browns starting winning to sell the rest...

Ugh, that's what everyone has been pressuring me to do since I pulled this at the show this past weekend:

Logic says you should sell.

Then again, I'm probably one of the most illogical collectors on these boards!

Oh well, i'm going to roll the dice and keep it...... I can't let it go now.

One day a UT alumnus will enjoy this card, but not today- it's just too purdy. :D

Great, thanks for the info. I pulled this Topps Chrome refractor (/50) auto last year and have been holding. His base Topps Chromes seem to be selling well, but i haven't seen a refractor recently.
I usually only do baseball but decided on a couple Topps Chrome football boxes last year...

He's among the more obvious sells at this point. His items have doubled over the preseason and a lot of future expectations are already priced in.

Browns are a 7 point favorite week 1 (Bengals) , so maybe after that game.

Beautiful card.

I have absolutely ZERO McCoy cards, but I am a huge UT fan, so any time they do well, I cheer for them. I am especially a huge fan of Colt, so I have nothing to add, but to say, I would hold and see how well he performs the first 3 weeks or so.
