belichek may have just cost the pats the game...used all there timeouts so they couldnt challenge the fourth down play...oh and by the way the belichek is obviously deathly afraid of manning after going for it on fourth down with the lead at there own 30....
and manning to wayne td..WOW one of the better games of this year

I'll throw this out there for anyone that focuses more on hating the Pats than paying attention to the game.
The decision to go for it on 4th down was crazy, but it wasn't what lost the game for them. The Pats have done some crazy things under Bill, but no one goes crazy when it works out. Was everyone calling him an idiot when he had an intentional safety in Denver all those year ago? Manning was Manning last night and I understand what they were trying to do. No guts, no glory. The offense is the strength of the team, not the defense.
Here is what did lose the game:
Calling the timeout to start that final drive and then using another before the 4th down play. Left them with zero timeouts for challenging the spot and if they got the ball back.
After the Colts got close to the end zone and ran the ball, the Pats should have just let them walk in. I think that gives them 45-60 seconds to get a field goal and win the game. If you go for it on 4th down because you know the Colts will score, then let them do it quick so you get the ball back.
Going conservative at the end of the game. This isn't a running team, why force it to try and burn clock? A couple completions to Welker/Moss for a couple first downs runs more clock than running the ball for no gain and then punting.
Edit: Also, an interception and a fumble in the end zone hurts too. How is Maroney still in the league?

Not to do another post about this, but I am a huge Colts fan and I honestly think it wasnt a bad call...I digress a bit and say it was probably not the SAFE call but it sure wasnt a wrong call......lets look at the facts here
1) Colts had not stopped the Pats in short down situations the entire game
2) Manning was finally starting to hit his stride as the last few drives had shown
3) there was still plenty of time on the clock, regardless of where Manning had the ball on their 30 or his own 30 to take it down and score...
4) If the Pats complete the play--the game is over and they WIN....I am sorry, but 99.9% of the time, the Patriots walk away from that play and game with a win........and as much as I hate to say it, the Colts really didnt stop them, Faulk just didnt get control of the ball in time...
Why this is even up for much of a discussion is beyond me. To me, watching the game, I think this game should not have even been close because the Colts played and looked awful until the 4th quarter.....defense wise they really didnt look good at any point in the game.....
I guess it is just the whole PATS/COLTS...BRADY/MANNING thing going on and the fact that the game was so hyped. If this was Patriots vs. Miami or something and this happens, it would be a small bullet point on the news pages for that week of games.

The Patriots through some combination of success, spygate, and not being media darlings have become the Yankees of the NFL. Many will take any shot they can to try and bring down the Pats. If the Colts made this call and lost to Miami then they'd be praised for have the guts to put the ball in their best player's hands to let him try and win the game.

That sucked, but I'm over it. The Patriots proved that they could go into Indy and control the game. Outcome wasn't right, but its over now. I don't think the defense will be hurt in the long run by the decision, they aren't children and get their feelings hurt.
Bellicheck did the same thing in the ATL game and everyone called him a genius when the offense converted.
The team will win the AFC East and have to win at least one game on the road to go to the Super Bowl. Does this game hurt, yes. But it doesn't take the team out of the top 3/4 in the AFC.
