In the first week of November. Never been that far out east before, anything to look forward to at all, any card shops in the area or any local sites to see? I am going to try to convince them to let me fly back on Saturday or Sunday so I can at least check out the area...I mean talk with our service reps. I was told I may be flying into Hartford.

Oh also, I have never been on a plane before....so that should be interesting.

There are a few shops around the Hartford area. I live in Hartford county and there is really not much to do in CT. Good luck on the plane, I hate flying as well.

mid 60's during the day then pretty chilly at night. Fall in New England is actually quite nice. If you get a chance check out omni cards in Wethersfield. They have decent prices on wax and if you buy a decent ammount they really hook you up. Also let me know the week you are heading up, the shows up here on the weekends aren't half bad.

Depending how much time you have Cooperstown is 3 or 4 hours away. I would highly recommend making the trip.

go to the show in plainville if it's going on. That's a decent one. One guy had a case full of high-end cards(Pujols BC Auto, Williams Cut) that were neat to look at.

While the plane is in mid flight remember to NOT jump up. You will end up in the rear of the plane..... 8-)

Have fun!

Spent the first 25 years of my life in CT....and as others said, not a whole lot to do. Not sure where you are from, but I've known many people who simply love the small towns, country side, check out the ocean, the foliage that time of year and just the scenery and nature, because it is so unlike the states and rural areas they are from. And there's all sorts of "nature and historical type things".....which I would not be too excited about (or have already seen) but you may be into....sure you can find site listing online. Or there's always the rest of New England if you have transportation. :P

And Omni cards was decent....that was one of the few places I found worth going to. Sadly most of the places around me tanked late 90's.

Omni is decent but like others have said there is not alot to do. All the card shops have closed and rarely a show if ever. I am interested in this Plainville show? Can someone give
me the info? Is it a monthly ? The Shriners show in Boston is great. Its about 2 hours from Hartford which you will be about 45 minutes from. That might be too long of a trip but it is worth it. I remember a killer card store in Bethel CT which is about 30 minutes from Shelton. I have no idea if he is still there. His Ebay is Aarons but not sure he still has a store. Total jerk but has a ton of stuff.
If you have never seen NYC you have to go worth the trip from Shelton. Probably an hour train ride. Stay far from Bridgeport.

The plainville card show is at the plainville VFW.
Oct 17 - Plainville Ct. Plainville VFW, 7 Northwest Dr., 9-2, 40T, A:$1 - Cliff Gorneault 860-302-0493 [email protected]
The last one was one sept. 19. It is a pretty nice show with vintage, prospects, patriots stuff, and modern players. That was my favorite one when I used to live there.

BTW don't waste your time with ESPN. If you want to sight see thats one thing but
its not much to see. You have a better chance to see some celebs if you hang out across
the street at McDonalds.

Connecticut in early November is nice, if you are into quaint old towns and fall foliage, maybe some antiquing and seeing historical sites. Otherwise probably not a lot to do. I have no idea where Shelton is, so no idea if it's close to NYC (I know, Connecticut is small, but in that part of the world the relationship between distance and time is highly variable). If it is, of course there's plenty to do there and convenient trains to take you there and back.

Shelton is north of Bridgeport maybe 15 minutes. On a clear day which is not often about 40 minutes down the Merrit or 95. I forgot if you like casinos Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun is about an hour.
