Throw whatever stats you want at me, but this forum is 90% baseball. I'm fine with that, as I'm all about baseball anyway, but I've been part of many forums where the posts come fast and furious regardless of time of day. Not that it's normal to be around past like 2 AM, but I am, and there is zero activity that late. The site is great, and I'm on it all the time, but it could definitely stand to grow a bunch.

I love this site and I collect 95% baseball, so that's probably why. However, I'd still love to see the baseball section grow. If we could also get the basketball and football sections to take off as well, then the other 5% of me would be satisfied as well

"Biggest forum" or "most active" doesn't mean anything.

The most active forum I know in terms of overall activity and trading is Sports Card Forum, but I can't stand the place.

My main hobby forums are TCC (#1) and FCB (#2). It's about the community and discussion for me.

We here at FCB know we are the biggest and the best.

This thread was not really meant for debate, but rather for a declaration. There are many many good communities out there. TCC, SCF are a couple that I respect. However right now I feel like we are a step ahead, and certain metrics agree with me.

Just keep having fun, whether its on here or on another forum. It's all about the hobby anyway, and anything we can do here at FCB to spread the love is a good thing.

You can have a site with 5000 members but only less than 5% of them are active, here we have what, 1500 members + and I would guess at least 30% are active a day.

I think what kills us too is there are a ton of other members on the other sites and they are most likely sticking around there because they have a good little community.Its not like ours is better or worse but I guess they have the whole "If it ain't broke don't fix it" attitude.I mean...I don't go over to other sites and really talk to anyone because I get my fill here.Just about any question I want answered I can satisfy it here.

I suppose the only real way to attract those kinds of people is to get everyone somehow to feel the need to band together.Imagine if we had SCF and the other big sites all merged into one?More sponsers would surely follow and also the collective knowledge of the board would be unrivaled and nobody else could touch it.You may even get more companies trying to actively post and show their products or offer prizes for give aways and whatnot.

I honestly think the emphasis on prospecting here scares away many people - although I'm not a prospector it doesn't scare me too much . The vast majority of real collectors don't have a clue about half the guys brought up for discussion on this board - including me!

It may help to have one board for investors/prospectors/MiLB players and another for collectors/MLB players.
