Roberto Clemente/Jackie Robinson.......These two players are what's "good" in baseball and are true heroes and humanitarians. Clemente has a huge following as does Jackie. Clemente and Jackie were the first of their race to be enshrined the the Hall of Fame. Jackie won the first rookie of the year award and both were the first of their race to win the League MVP Award. Thanks for the contest. I'd have to go with the Clemente/Gehrig. Just the sheer iconic-ness (I think I just invented a word...) of having two of the greatest to ever play the game from each league would be awesome. Adding that they were both class acts, is icing on the cake...

Thanks for the contest! I'd have to go with Babe Ruth and Walter Johnson. One can't go wrong with any on the list. There are some very difficult deadball guys there. My reason for Ruth and "Big Train" is very simple and selfish: I've always wanted an autograph of each player.

While it would be hard to pass on a Ruth/Gehrig, I would go for Ty Cobb and Jackie Robinson. I feel that would be a great conversation piece considering how Cobb was such a bigot and nasty person all around, while Robinson was the man to overcome and endure so much to prove people like him wrong.
