Congratulations to Ichiro for hits # 2900 and 2901

Very happy for Ichiro as he is now under 100 hits to 3000.
For the age he started he has already accomplished a tremendous amount. I know he won't get his 3000th until next year but it's been very cool to follow.

He has the rookie record hits in a season
Single season hit record
Most consecutive 200 hit seasons
Roy and MVP + a ton of other accomplishments.

Its Crazy because I really dint think he would get to 3000 and now it looks like it will. Still more season left for him to rack up more hits.

Exactly, that's my favorite card of Ichiro that I don't have. Very nice card.

I sold an ultimate collection auto rc in 2002 thinking there is no way he can live up to his hype.

After 2004 that card became my only regret... until years later when I was able to replace it.

As far as active players go, does anyone think Beltre [2687], Miggy [2283], or Pujols [2616] also get to 3,000 hits?

All three should, Beltre hit 199 2 years ago and is close enough to do it, Miggy is on 32 and still hitting well if it takes him 5 more seasons he's got it.

Pujols needs about 3 more seasons and should get it before 40.

But this is all if health is not a problem.

2901 in 2300 games is astounding. Makes it what, gwynn aaron, rose and cobb to do it faster? What an impression losing the first 1/4 of his career to non mlb service leaves on everyone.
Add 5 years of 150 (on the low end)-200 hits a season...
