I'd say Luis Gonzalez's game winning hit against the Yanks.

Agree with Gibson as well. I was a big McGwire fan as a kid and was watching the game all decked out in my A's gear as I was almost everyday. Gibson hit the homer and I was yelling in excitement. Around the time he was rounding 3rd base I realized the A's had lost. It was such an incredible moment that it completely made me forget my allegiances for about 60 seconds. That's how I knew immediately I had just seen something "historic", even as a 12 year old. More recently, the ENTIRE 2003 post season was AMAZING. Damn near every game of it

Thank for another great contest Andrew!

Re: Contest for 2 Slots in 2010 Topps Update Case Break

My personal favorite postseason memory is game 2 of the 2005 World Series.

After a close win in game 1, Bobby Jenks struggled in the 9th and gave up 2 runs as the Astros tied the game. Ozzie Guillen reportedly told the obviously dejected Jenks "Don't worry, we'll get them back for you."

Scott Podsednik led off the bottom half against hard-throwing Brad Lidge.

Podsednik was known-for his base-stealing ability but had shown absolutely no power during the regular season, hitting zero home runs.

He hit the ball solidly to right-center field. At first it looked like a sure double, possibly a triple. As the ball sailed through the air I could not believe my eyes. Slap hitting Scott Podsednik could not have just hit a game winning home run in the World Series, could he?

Podsednik himself reacted as though he had no idea the ball was gone. He sprinted towards first base and looked on. As the ball cleared the wall and landed a few rows back he pumped his fist in absolute bliss. The Sox had won the game and had taken a 2-0 lead in the World Series.

Without winning that game, the World Series very well would have ended differently. All the games were close battles and going back to Houston with the Series tied would have changed things. Podsednik's homer was one of the main proponents to the first World Series title the White Sox had won in 88 years. I'll never forget it.

I was at Game 5 of the World Series last year in Philly. I was 4 rows up on the 3rd base line. Amazing game, Phillies win. Cliff Lee was dominant and Brad Lidge nearly blew it, but it was exciting.

Johnny Damon's grand slam in the deciding game of the 2004 ALCS. After coming back from an 0-3 deficit to tie the series at 3, when Damon hit that slam in the 2nd inning I knew the Sox were gonna win.

Thanks Andrew for the opportunity.

Favorite memory is Tug McGraw striking out Willie Wilson in 1980.

Thanks!
