There are just fewer Hosmers than those other guys. From what I have gathered, with admittedly very little research, is this:

The 250 quantity on Hosmer and Lawrie base is rumored, but seems to be accurate. Neither has regular refractor auto's, and Hosmer doesn't even have Blue Ref autos, hence the reason his might go for more. And a Lawrie Red Refractor got $4200+ in auction a while back, and then a week later one got $3200ish

EDIT: AND i think that Hosmer is generally more highly regarded than Lawrie

Card closed at a somewhat disappointing $3,500.09, so imac220 is the winner. I paid $2900 for the card so will still make around $400 after eBay fees, obviously hoped to make more, but I'll take it. I was FLOORED that with over 1000 views and 145 watchers that there wasn't a single snipe attempt. Winning bid was placed with about 30 minutes left. The end was certainly anticlimactic. Hosmer didn't help me by hitting 2 HR's in the first 3 games, but then not hitting any more and hovering around .200 BA the last few days of the auction. Anyways, I am off work today with a sick daughter, but I'll send imac220 a PM tomorrow and send him the cards.
