Me and my dad went up to Rancho Cucamonga last night to deliver some players gloves and to take some photos of them using them. Once we finished up on the field we planned on just finding an empty seat since we didnt have tickets just press passes but the place was pretty crowded and we didnt want to steal someones seat so we made our way up to sit in the press box. The press box only had one seat open so the quakes allowed me and my dad to sit in one of the empty luxury boxes. That was a pretty awesome experience in its own but about 20 minutes later the door creeks open and Tommy Lasorda and head of minor league operations Dejon Watson both walk in. It was a pretty amazing experience to be able to watch a ball game alongside such a legend!.

That is something I will never forget for sure.

Did he tell any stories or were you not able to talk to him.
no stories but just talking about what was happening during the game.

I probably would have got on his nerves because I would have picked at his brain the whole game about plays and moves by managers.

That is fantastic! The fact that you got to share the experience with your dad just made it that much more special.

Great story and experience.

I've never met Lasorda but my father has and says he was a great guy. My dad is a lawyer and was involved in a case against Lasorda that my dad won for his client. Lasorda approached my father after the trial and complimented him on the win and how well he handled himself. He then went on to offer tickets to a Dodgers game. Not too many people would compliment the person who cost them money in a trial, let alone offer them tickets to a ball game so it was very special indeed.

Sorry to hijack the thread but reading your post reminded me of the story somehow.

Nice.....I once sat in those suites too when I was really young. Every summer when I was growing up I was able to go see the Quakes, 66ers & Storm when I would come out to CA to visit my Pops! :D
