If the Japanese team from this year's WBC could play a season in the MLB... would they be able to win 90 games (or close to 90) in any MLB division and league..?

Who knows? What I would love to see is the World Series winner take on the Japan Championship Series winner in a best of 7 series.

I would say no, just because of how the leagues are set up in Japan. They would be facing many more teams/pitchers in a given year. Plus the WBC is mainly exhibition/ST substitute for the USA team. Until it is taken seriously, like it is with international teams, it won't be a good measure for a hypothetical question like that one.

I say yes - Daisuke, Darvish and Iwakuma are each top of the rotation type starters. There are worse lineups in MLB than they ran out there with Ichiro, Fukudome, Aoki, Johjima, Iwamura etc.

I think they'd be the best team in the league with the worst stats in the league. At least offensively. If that makes any sense.

Great fundamentals, base running, speed, small ball etc?

I would say yes, it's an all-star team from an entire nations teams, including some AL all-stars, so yes it's not impossible to see a team like that winning 90 games. Remember they would only face top teams every now and then, the rest of the teams will be from the bottom of the league and no match for all-star teams.

The Japan WBC team would be the best team in the league IMO.
