This is what, the 100th time the Jets have been accused of tampering? Where there's smoke, there's fire...

I hate to say this but Crabtree is a retard.People lose their jobs and their homes in this economy and he is crying his ass off about having to take the money they are offering him.I do understand in the NFL...nothing is guaranteed because it just takes one play to change your whole career but I also think 16 million guaranteed is one hell of a good deal.Besides...they even list the top picks ahead of him and show how the money decreases per pick. You have a number 7 pick getting 23 mill guaranteed and then the 8th overall pick getting 19 mil guaranteed .Then you have Crabtree getting 16 million guaranteed. And all three of those deals included a 5 year contract.

That's pretty damn good for guys who have proven nothing as of yet.Hell...he could probably even juice another 1-2 million out of them but no.He has to be greedy.I am sorry for him because I think its more the people who are surrounding him who feel he should get more money.Apparently they don't understand their leverage is lessening by the day.If he goes into the draft next year...I feel he will slip even further. That means less money. And obviously the draft is tiered. The higher you are the more money you make.No amount of bitching and whining is going to change that.So to expect more money(a lot more) than people picked ahead of him is not only stupid...its not going to happen.

Curious to see what ends up coming out of this, can't imagine too much but a fine or something. But I am really curious to know what is the real reason behind Crabtree's absence, it has to be himself or his family. As greedy as any agent is there is no way in hell an agent would be dumb enough to encourage him to sit this year and enter next years draft. Maybe as a bluff at first but I don't think his agent would let it go this long. I'm guessing his family. Or maybe hes just scared of Singletary, he already made him cry once.

Yeah...I can't imagine its his agent either.I think its his family. And obviously they are either dumb as a bag of rocks or their agent is for being too stupid to explain exactly how perilous of a road they are going to be traveling if they don't sign.

He did? When?

In one of the early mini camp sessions, when Crabtree was out running routes when wasn't supposed to be doing any kind of athletic activities (due to his foot). Singletary ripped into him pretty good to make sure it didn't happen again. Crabtree got a bit teary-eyed over the "discussion."

The 49ers were stripped of a 5th rounder, and had to switch spots with the Bears in the 3rd round for allegedly tampering with soon to be Free Agent Lance Briggs a year or so ago. Goodell was out on a power trip to make an example of someone that day. So if the Jets are caught, the Jets should get the same style of punishment. If Goodell could actually enforce rules equally across the league (which he doesn't), he'd strip the Jets of a 2010 5th round pick and flip the teams' picks in the 3rd for the upcoming draft (if it were to benefit the 49ers)

But that won't happen, just as Will (K&K) mentioned in his post, as the Jets routinely dance around the tampering rule with players. In addition, Goodell is too busy trying to schedule more football games in Europe (to sell more NFL t-shirts and jerseys) to care.

Poster boy for a structured and tiered rookie cap.

Wouldn't it be classic if they could implement that before next season? Crabtree would be ::facepalm:: all the way to the bank.

It's his agent. They won't even have a face to face with the niners until the niners can meet their terms. The best part about this is now the niners are pro rating the contract and every game he misses the offer is reduced by about 200-300K.
