Lol go ahead. This is b.s. he's either being REAL greedy or listening to his ******* agent who is going the wrong way with this.

He won't hold out until next year, he will sign. I am not worried.

If he does hold out for a year. I will be done with his stuff.

He grew up in a very poor area and now that he's in the NFL he thinks he deserves a ton of money (what his agent is telling him).

He'll make a ton of money if he takes a contract that is fair for his draft value and then does well.

He doesn't seem to get that though, he's trying to squeeze out 5 more million probably even though he'd be getting a ton regardless, just like alot of guys who go from nothing to everything and think they deserve everything because of it.

I just saw some more reports on Sportscenter and it's not even his agent, but his cousin who is his "advisor". It seems his agent tried to dismiss the claims, so maybe there's hope their not too far apart. (though I'm sure his agent is still being greedy to whatever extent - just not the one that made the comment  )

How's this for compromise? Crabtree gets a guaranteed salary even with the spot he was taken at. Then rewards for achievements are laid down allowing him to reach top pick money.

Mike Williams actually wanted to play. He however hired an agent and was later deemed ineligible for the draft because he only completed 2 years of college. Since he already had an agent, he couldnt return to USC, and he was forced to sit out the year.

Thats what Im saying. Give him an incentive laced contract, and if he lives up to his own hype, he should have no problem earning more money. If he isnt as good as he thought, then he didnt deserve the money anyways. And if he does reenter the draft, I doubt he moves up in next years draft. If anything, he will drop because teams would be worried about his attitude.

And I think this holdout might be hurting his future contract possibilities after his initial rookie contract because other teams will remember him being greedy.

His whole argument is based on MOCK DRAFTS. The mock drafts said he sould go above Heywood-Mays becuase he's better than Mays. Al Davis is senile and drafed Mays. Now Crabtree wants more money than him and syas anything less than 23MM guarenteed is unacceptacle. This is crazy. As a niner fan I hope they can settle this and get him into camp.

Of course his cousin wants him to get more, yeah sound advice. That way he can ride his coat tails and escape whatever ghetto he's from. I agree with the performance based contract that way he can put up or shutup.

It doesn't even need to performance based contracts. The NBA has it right. You're a first round pick here is how much you make. Your second contract will be based on how well you play. Of course the NFL will have to tweak it based on position but there definitely needs to be a cap.
