Okay, I understand how these are all linked, but what were they thinking with the last one:

Forever Linked
Sammy Sosa/Mark McGwire
Gordie Howe/Wayne Gretzky
Shaquille O’Neal/Kobe Bryant
Babe Ruth/Jose Molina

I just had to look it up. First and last home runs at Yankee Stadium.

I think a Clemente hat card would be really cool.

In 2007 Sportkings made a Clemente hat card called "Hats Off". They sell pretty well and are very limited. They also have a picture of Clemente on the card. I'd post a picture, but don't know how since I don't have a photobucket. I have it stored on my computer though.
I never saw one of those. I'm sure the new ones will sell really well. They are like 2-3 times the size of an average relic window.

Products like this are exactly why I am not a completist.

I don't understand why they are able to put pics on SportKings but not on these.

And from a player collector standpoint, why would you want a card that may or may not
have an actual relic from your player, but not a picture? Is it a matter of completion?

To me, these cards may as well be this...

Because they obtain the rights to put pictures on the SK cards. As I understand it, they don't need any rights to produce cards without pictures even though every memorabilia piece is game-used.

Every card in this Famous Fabrics set will feature "game-worn" pieces of memorabilia. At least that's how I understand it. It would be very expensive to obtain the rights to place pictures of the athletes on some of these cards as there will be some very high-end pieces of memorabilia in these cards. That might be what will attract player-collectors...the unique combinations that will be found on these cards that you won't/can't find anywhere else.

In that picture you posted, it states those are "replicas". Famous Fabrics won't contain any replicas. They will contain 100% game-worn memorabilia pieces. Again, at least that's how I understand it.

I understand that the company certifies them as game worn/used. Bad comparison I guess.

I just don't see the appeal of a piece of cardboard with swatches in it and nothing else. I don't
even like the way these look with a generic picture, so to me, these are that much more worthless.

Personally, I see a lot of these cards being torn apart for future customs, but maybe thats just me?

Some people do happen to like them. I understand how you might not though. I think a major factor will be how limited this product is. That patch card of Dawson that you posted above is one of only 10 copies. It's very limited, and therefore people will collect it.

It's not Gem Mint. ;)

And he wants $250 for it! ::facepalm:: I wish him luck. I would love to see that card sell for $250.
