Got my red first, then green, then picked up the final piece from Steve

I don't know how I feel about picking it up though. I mean, I am extremely happy, but now I'm just like "Now what?" They're just going to go in a box. Maybe I'll make a display for them or something. I don't know - I just feel like now that the "chase" is over, I can retire. I guess silently I was hoping to always get outsniped on my purple - you know keep the collecting juices going.

I hope no one takes that the wrong way, and I'm glad the player collector's got their cards - but the whole crusade thing lost its allure right now to me. Of course, I don't think we'll see another massive selloff like this again anytime soon

Sorry about your feelings about the Crusades but trust me buddy...unless you are collecting a super obscure player...there are far more rare and harder to find pieces to pick up.I still need a purple and Red Bags but its not that I have never seen them...I just can't afford them.I don't think I would be bummed in the least to land them. That would be more like a feeling of relief.

Nope - I completely understand and agree - just venting a tad

I guess the huge selloff didn't do anything for me, like everyone else it seems like. I truly am happy that collectors were able to fill some holes :) . I guess it could've been the 20 threads about the damn things that popped up that really aggrivated me

N1ASTROSFAN1 said it best when he mentioned that there seemed to be way too much attention being paid to the 90's stuff lately.I have to agree.Especially because I am a collector of such things.I was watching several of these things when they hit but only won a couple because I absolutely refuse to overpay for scrubs because a lot of Johnny come lately's are starting to show up.Not that I am saying people can't collect what they want and what they think looks nice but it sure sucks when the things you are interested in go from being on the back burner to the forefront and everyone who couldn't care less about them a few months ago now seems to want them.

Don't even get me started on this. I'm pretty PO'd about the whole thing...and not because of the auctions either. Those mean nothing to me...it's behind the scenes stuff that has occurred.

edited to add: my pissyness has nothing to do with my fellow Thomas collectors on this forum...absolutely nothing.

As soon as I worked out a deal for the red I turned to my girl and said "Now what? I've acquired the two cards I've wanted the most in the last 3 months."

For me the chase is over, and there is nothing I really want anymore; Sure I want 98 topps tek pattern 79 (last one I need) but I don't feel I need it after completing the 191 card M&M black set /29 (52HR+128RBI+11assist). I've been trying to figure out what I like since and I've bought some cool cards but nothing that is making me go WOW! Hopefully this changes although to me it feels like I've hit the top of Everest; Will there ever be a chase (climb) that's the same?

Great stuff, Weren't you building a crusade type site once? still working on it or did you axe the idea?

Still working on it. After this explosion, I'm hoping to get a ton more scans for it.

Not sure how much help it would be now though, was originally going to be a site for trades and such to help player collectors. I'm open to ideas for it though!

How bout just a showcase of each and every card; go for more in depth later! gracecollector has written a very informative blog about distribution and as a community we could probably get 70% of scans up. separate it into green/purple/red/prototype sections and offer up an E-mail to contact with additional scans or unknown prototypes/new information.

Hell, if we could account for 10% of a print run that'd be cool, and even cooler to have scanned evidence; Even with ebay pics or what not.

Right now, that's the plan. To get scans of the front and back from members that own the cards, then to compile a trade/want list with email addresses of people that need cards.

I have the domain registered and so I need to start working on the layout and content.

Wow, there's a whole lot of crusade scans at the chippercards link!

I am well equipped in Manny Ramirez crusades- haven't posted any scans on FCB yet.

OK- I've got some crusade pics here- the scans look nice but they seem to miss the depth and refractive nature of the card etching. I tried to make each one look a little different. I did complete my rainbow during "crusade mania" but it wasn't with the color many others did (purple). Thanks to HOFautos on this board for helping me land the red!
