Cubs fan gets bitch slapped

I saw that when it first posted. I am a military veteran and its easy to let the patriot in you bubble out over something like this. Although I personally think fans (and players) should feel obligated to stand at events for the anthem, I also don't think it is anyone else's business if someone doesn't stand. One exception being an employee who is being paid and represents a franchise at an event like this. In that case, if your employer expects/requires you to stand, then you refusing to do so may put your job in jeopardy, but you still have that right to choose as well. Slapping the guy was not cool and the initial comments I saw supporting him were disappointing (although not unexpected) and it's nice to see the guy has acknowledged this was not the best way to handle the situation and the two even seemed to have reconciled in the end. He even pointed out himself that fighting for the US means fighting for the rights of others and the right not to stand is one of them. Lessons learned all around, perhaps.

I'm a vet too. I agree. The team expects players to stand. The guy that slapped the kid was out of line. It's simple assault. Dumb move by the guy. Stupid disrespectful kid.
