Did you happen to win any of the Sandberg cards that I pmed you about that ended last night?

I won one 23 and another card I took a gamble on. Hopefully it pays off. Those prices were OUTRAGEOUS! There are a couple of fairly new Sandberg collectors that apparently have an unlimited pocketbook. I was not willing to go as far as some of those cards went.

Some lunatic spent around $200 on a 1997 Circa Sandberg Rave /150.

These prices are getting insane. I had $106 snipes on each Pinnacle Sample (with Rickey), and neither bid went through. I believe clarkfan won at least one of them. I didn't even watch the Rave. I had my copy for a third that. There's no way that thing should be a $200 card. This is going to set a nasty precedence.

More power to them, I suppose. The value of my collection is increasing. My ability to add to it is not. I'm focused on 1983 to 1998 issues, so at least I can avoid the insanity around some of the more recent stuff. I'm tempted to move most everything post 1998 and cash in.

I've thought about moving my post-98 stuff as well - except for the 23's. It's so hard to let go though. My primary focus is 1998 and prior as well with 23's close behind.

Yeah I was watching all of his auctions. Insane amounts of money being thrown around. I've talked to gunther713 a few times as he lives about 15 miles away from me. He's always got amazing stuff

I was watching those auctions as well and got worried that one of those two bidders you mentioned would outbid me on the Sandberg GQ leather mini...but that didn't happen to my relief. :grin:

If any of you Cubs collectors happen to have any Cubs GQ leather minis #ed 01/10 or 10/10, please do let me know...at least for sake of knowing where certain examples are.

Glad you got the card, Frosty. I generally sympathize with a set collector over even team and player collectors such as myself. There are plenty of new Sandberg cards for all of us to obtain if we want. You, however, need this particular one.

Sorry didn't see the question until now, but he told me he buys collections so with that I'm guessing they are all his

I believe the collection belonged to another eBay member whose ID is magnumba23. He had several of those cards listed with BINs several weeks ago. He then got several negatives for not honoring transactions. He must have sold everything to the current seller while his listings were still active.
