What are the Cubs doing???

Traded Derosa to the Indians, Trading Marquis to the Rockies...... okay, so you cut some payroll.

You add Miles, whoppity dooda

So is the money now earmarked for Milton bradley? Or Adam Dunn?

Did you add more pieces for a Peavy Trade? I personally think the Cubs got NOTHING in return for Derosa. Not one decent prospect.

What the hell are they thinking? Getting rid of Derosa
They better have something big in the works, or I am going to be pretty mad.
They better land Peavy and Bradley :D

Word on The Score (AM670) today was that the deal for DeRosa got them 3 pitching prospects which may be used in the deal for Peavy.

Don't really like them getting rid of a good clubhouse guy/ versatile player unless the deal for Peavy depending on those 3 guys as part of the deal.

The Cubs can do without the Milton Bradley antics, I don't think Lou would put up with it for long even if he can hit.

Miles may be a good pickup if Lou puts him as leadoff and moves Alfonso down to 6th in the order....

What do I know??? I'm not sure why I'm even paying attention to them after 2 straight years of 3 and out.

Ugh...once a Cubbie fan always a Cubbie fan

Nice pickup for the tribe. :D
Yeah no kidding right.
I really hope the Cubs do not land Bradley, but I would like to see Dunn come here.

I swear Cubs better get Peavy now.

I think this trade just might make it happen. Toss in 2 of the 3 or all 3 with other parts from the Cubs organization and get it done.

Aaron Miles is the freaking bomb.

I'm serious too.

You'll love him.

Aren't they just clearing up payroll for Milton Bradley?

That is what the "experts" keep saying. I really have a feeling that they will package all of those prospects from the Derosa trade and make another push for Peavy.... Along with Bradley.

That's what all signs point to. Let's hope it all works out in 2009!

Jeff Stevens was the centerpiece prospect from the tribe. He pitched for team usa in the olympics and has the stuff to be a future closer. Don't like to see him go, but we have an abundance of young relievers and like DeRosa. Good trade imo for Cleveland

Lincecum Land
Jake peavy will be a cubs.

Hopefully he gets wins, and hopefully his ERA will go up at Wrigley field giving Tim Lincecum a little more advantage for CY Young :P

You all realize that right now the CUBS will not be able to land any big players until the sale is complete. Their hands are tied unless new management clears the deal, which so far has not happened.

I doubt picking up 3 pitching prospects to make a push at Peavy will change anything, considering the steep price the Padres were asking. Why would they all of the sudden take less than they are already asking for???? Lets face it here, unless someone is willing to completely give up the farm, the Padres are not in any hurry to move Peavy.

Aaron Miles was a good pickup....solid, gritty player, who always seems to have respectable numbers and an at least average glove. Dumping Derosa didnt make much sense. Marquis I am kind of so-so doesnt really matter in the long run.

Cubs will do hardly any wheeling and dealing this off season, and will go into next year with almost the same team minus Kerry Wood.......may or may not sign another bat like Milton Bradley--but do you really want him in your clubhouse???
