not even enough to put a dent in the interest on the money he stole from RI taxpayers..

Funny how Mr. Rightous has taken a major tumble off his own soapbox. He talks XXXX about everyone else and what they are doing wrong in the most outspoken way possible as a means of deflecting negativity toward himself and his own failings. At least we won't have to hear him on WEEI much if at all anymore..

I always thought this obsession about the sock was funny. If any network besides Fox carried the game, we might never have known about it. But because of their obsession with closeups, we got to zoom in on it for like 5 minutes. I mean seriously, ever notice half of every Fox baseball game is tight shots on the faces of players, fans, Jennifer Garner?

No matter what side of the Schilling fence you fall on, I'm surprised by the people down playing the significance of the sock. As a simple baseball fan, those '04 playoffs were one of the most exciting I can remember. Just a bloody sock? How many single items of equipment can you associate so easily with a historic moment on a quick glance?

Could this auction raise prices on the bloody sock bobblehead? I bought one on impulse when it was released and have only seen a few listed.

Would I buy the sock? No. But buying game used memorabilia is not my cup of tea. But anyone here bashing potential buyers for getting a SIGNIFICANT piece of history of the game we all love just doesn't get it. It is no different if someone bought a jersey or pants or cleats and later found out there was a little blood on it.

While the blood on the sock is what makes it famous - they are not buying the sock solely because it has Curt Schilling's blood on it - they are buying the sock for the historical significance.

Exactly.

if it was the real sock with the playoff hype. This is the second sock from the WS. I don't even recall there being a second sock because of the madness that surrounded the first sock.

Right on, I guess I didn't either. And I also remember hearing at the time the sock was tossed either in the garbage or laundered in someway though I thought I had heard by his wife. Still crazy and yet conspiracy inducing. I see the link now...
