I get a few sales a week that go to Canada or overseas. On high dollar sales they always ask me to lie on the value. I haven't yet, but what happens if I do say it was only a $20 dollar item on a $100 sale.

Not really sure, but I'd assume if they could prove an actual value and that you lied about it, it may be a form of mail fraud?

Being something like a baseball card, I don't know how they'd prove an actual value, unless they looked up the auction.

If you print out the label through paypal, the good thing is, they fill out the customs form for you and it is already attached to the postage form.

The bad news is, they put the value on the customs form whether you like it or not.

If you fill it out yourself, they wouldn't know the difference. I've lied about the value before, but if you are sending it registered, you want to be honest about the value because they'll partially insure it for you.

Ah good call on the registered. The package in question is going registered. I was going to declare full value anyways but I was curious what happens when you don't
