It happens to me all the time. I hate it too! When I was buying heavy, I would see cards and kick myself for not searching days or merely hours earlier and I would have caught them and had a shot at landing them.

I usually stumble onto auctions like that where it sells for much less than what I would have paid and I would have seen it if not for the seller's incompetence in the way he listed it. I'm going for the master set of White Sox 2003 Leaf Certified parallels, and I saw a Mirror Black Mark Buehrle patch sell for about $40. I would have paid double for it if I had seen it.

Just happened to me too. A Granderson superfractor and another 1/1 ended on the day after Christmas. Which I had no idea about since the holidays and a lack of internet access in the mountains on vacation. :(

That is also a very good price for that card as well. Just as most other things are ending fairly cheap these days.

I got mine for about $75 cheaper than this card ended! :D But this is just a bad time to list high end cards. You aren't going to get what you'd expect.

Zambrano- There was a thread last week where I showed my Maddux/Johnson dual and you posted that you wanted a Maddux/Jenkins dual card... I replied right after with a link to this auction... wish you would have seen it.

that's why i don't look at completed auctions much....too painful

you know what i've been also experiencing lately? happened twice in the last week but i submit a offer (above going rate, actually), the seller counters something higher that's too much and i decline it. a day or two later, seller accepts an offer lower than my initial offer....weird....and kinda hurt :|

I had that happen with an Arky Vaughn GU bat out of Prime cuts. Seller had BIN/BO of $59.99. I offered $20, fully expecting him to counteroffer since they were sellng in the $30 - $35 range at the time. Seller declined (no counteroffer), and the auction ended with no bidders. Then, when searching completed auctions, the seller relisted with $25 BIN and it was already hit. I would have paid $35 if he had just countered. Seems silly when sellers leave $$ on the table like that.

Damn it. Thanks for trying to help. Too bad I didn't check the thread. Hopefully I will win the next one. The problem is I need to search Maddux and Jenkins more. I never miss a Zambrano or Soto because I search them all day, every day

If you're looking for a counteroffer, then I would suggest making your first offer near the going rate. If I was offered $20 on a card that regularly sold for $30-35, then I would think you were just trying to lowball me. If you offer a price closer to the going rate you will be taken more seriously. $60 is an obscene BIN for something that sells for half that, so when I offer less than 50% of what their BIN is I usually include a message with the item numbers of completed auctions to explain my offer.
