The only problem is when Wossa is after the same player that you are. Otherwise, I'm amazed at what he buys and even more amazed at the prices. More power to him. I appreciate what he does for the hobby.

That's like a T Ball team having a rivalry with the Yankees.

There was another buyer a few years ago that was buying cards for his grand kids. He had spent over $250K on cards within about 3 months or so.. He owned some businesses that did quite well so he was able to invest in cards for his grandkids.. He bought various cards of different players if I remember.. I think it was back on teh BMB days that it happened..

So there is more than 1 Wossa.. Just hope that you pull a prospect he collects..

was Chicago now Glendale AZ
When this whole Wossa saga began, I originally thought it was a conglomeration of several collectors who pulled money together and used someone all trusted as the address to send cards (ie RU Scuba or someone like that). That fact that nothing ever was resold threw out that theory

There aren't too many people who spend "real money" in the hobby, so people are naturally fascinated when someone like Wossa comes along. Generally people who have real money choose not to invest in cards, but rather in something else, otherwise we'd be seeing more people like Wossa in the hobby.

This is a very good point right here.

At last count, there are over 1,000,000 millionaires in the US alone. There are a lot of people who could be a "wossa" in the hobby.

However, most of those people are busy making more money and hanging out on their 80' yacht.
