Well i have finally seen one !!! I have been working on the 2000 SKYBOX AUTOGRAPHICS auto set for a few years now which look like this....I have 25 of the 133 in the set, and tonight i said what the heck lets look for RAUL MONDESI which for some reason i can never find $5 auto   now i run accross this which is the purple foil version #d/ 50 ...what would u do say the heck with it and shoot for the #d auto or continue looking for the base one to stay in uniform ?

I hate when this happens !!!

stay in uniform. even though the #'d/50 is more valuable, personally, it would stick out like an eye sore if it was the only cards #'d/50 of my set.

Sounds like a tough set to put together, but I would stick with your base set as well. Unless you'd planned on doing the numbered set in the future, I would leave it alone. You'll always know that it really isn't part of the base set.

i would get it to just have it, till you can find the base one, then resell the 50 later on ;)

Leave it alone. If you are asking that question then you have some doubt. If you put it in your set it would always bother you and you would never be completely happy. Or yuo could buy it and let it hang out until the one you want shows up. Either way good luck .

If the /50 is cheap, I'd go ahead and pick it up.

That's quite a collection you've got going...thanks for the link to your photobucket.

(as a note, you might want to check your file naming convention, as some guys are listed by first name, some by last, so they're not in alphabetical order.)

Yeah, pick it up. Resell or trade later for set needs.

I think that's one of my favorite auto sets ever. The basketball version is strong as well. They just have a great clean look to them. Nothing too over the top.

Indeed, and on-card to boot.

I personally would pick it up and try to add any more #/50 I could find. But that's just me and my opinion. Better is, well, better. :)

I just thought I'd post this image here. It's probably my least favorite Will Clark autograph. Well, at least among the on-card autos. It's just a horrible picture, at least in my book.

I very much agree that it's a nice set. I really like the JT Snow in the OP's collection, but I don't like the Will at all...

if you do not decide to pick it up......you might let fcb member dodgerchromie know about it. He is collecting Mondesi, and would probably be thrilled to have this card in his collection.

Just get it, replace it later if you can. Who knows, maybe the base version was never issued, which is why you can never find it. Then you'll really be kicking yourself.

Maybe search google? You might find a pic of it randomly. Some people I know have had success doing that.
