I bought myself one of their baseball box specials for x-mas. It was one tin of 07 Sweet Spot Classic, one box 07 SP Rookie Edition, 1 box of 07 SP Authentic, and I added an 05 Just Minors Dual Signatures Memorabilia Edition to make my order over $150 and get 3 packs of 07 Upper Deck Elements for free.

I opened the 3 packs of Elements first.
Base Cards:
5-David Ortiz
29-Alex Rodriguez
36-Albert Pujols
71-Alex Rodriguez
77-Ichiro
95-Ken Griffey Jr.
120-Albert Pujols

Also got a Rookie Elements Brian Burres #ed /550 and this...

Good start so far. Next I opened the SP Rookie Edition box. A bunch of RC Logo cards with the notable ones being a couple diffirent Ryan Braun, a Lincecum, Alex Gordon, and a couple Okajima's. The autographs were...

After that it was on to the Sweet Spot Classics. Love this stuff! The base cards were Cecil Cooper & Don Newcombe /575.

Lastly the box of SP Authentic.

Would have been my favorite card if he was in a Twin's uni..

The other BTL was an expired redemption. Should have known I'd pull one of those. It was for an Ian Kinsler BTL.

Tough break. Especially the expired redemption. Better luck next time and thanks for sharing.

I understand Topps and UD sometimes has to put redemptions in their products, but my biggest complaint is why they expire so soon.I enjoy buying boxes from previous years, and although I've never pulled an expired redemption yet, I'd be pissed to pull one of someone/something noteworthy, especially if it came from '07.I, too, was thinking about getting some '07 UD SP Authentic, but if all the redemptions are already expired it makes this stuff very risky.

Why can't redemptions be valid for 5-6 years, or at least something longer than a year?Is Topps and UD that desperate to clean out inventory?

I watched a guy open a 1999-00 UD Retro basketball box at my local card shop a few years ago. He got one of those redemptions. Too bad it was expired. Oh and the player you ask??

What was the Jordan?Autograph?Jersey? Both? How did you extinguish the inferno coming from the guy's dome?

No redemption should have an expiration of less than a year. It's one thing it's it's 8-9 years old, but a year is just unacceptable.

Guess I jumped the gun on the expired redemption card. The card itself says it needs to be received by 11/22/2008, but I guess Upper Deck extended the expiration on these until the end of the year (tomorrow). I redeemed it online and they are replacing my Kinsler with Carlos Quentin.

It was for an Autograph #/23 if I remember correctly.
