How do you know if they are real or not, there is a nice 1955 Bowman Reprint of Pujols that I was bidding on.

Because ALL of the Pujols buybacks are obvious fakes.. I haven't seen a real one in years.

How do you know if they are real or not?

Here is a flow chart to determine if the card is real (for Bowman Originals autos).

Is the card worth over $100?
If no, then it is likely real.
If yes, then...
Did you pull it?
If yes, then it is real.
If no, then it is likely fake.

I agree, if you stake your business on selling unsearched wax, it may not be a great idea to also sell the best pulls from that wax!

My last purchase from D&A was searched resealed wax, my emails and calls went unanswered. I will NEVER buy from them again.

So what are these orignal buybacks supposed to look like? I have 2 from Michael Young. Both 2004 Bowman. One base and one chrome refractor.
Both came in the sealed cases with the sticker that can be seen in front and a hologram on back of the card. There is also a sticker on the backside of the case that says "2005 Bowman Sterling Baseball".

I have 31 2006 Bowman Originals buyback cards, and each has a case that looks like this:

There are three stickers on the case: the one sealing it shut (clear with some sort of writing), and two on the back ("2006 Bowman Originals" and "Certified Autograph Issue"). Additionally, there is a square sticker on the back of the card itself, of the sort that Topps uses on autographed cards.

Of note, I bought three of these cards of Jonny Gomes from sportscardgiant_store (eBay id). Each arrived sans both case and sticker on the card (the residue remained, which stuck the cards to the toploaders). I was able to get a refund, but I do not doubt that three cards with fake autographs took on the cases and stickers from the Gomes cards.

This is good information. Furthermore, some years of Bowman Sterling used buyback autos (very similar to Bowman Originals) as boxtoppers. I'm pretty sure it was 05/06/07-ish. Somewhere in that range. I remember pulling a few. I'm sure there's someone here who can give more/better info than I can. Just wanted to point that out.

I am a collector not a card dealer. Once again another person on these boards that has all the time in the world on their hands. I am looking at the auction and they appear this 1955 appears to be real. It is in a sealed case, etc and numbered.

if everyone here is so sure it is a fake, then why the hell have you not CALLED ebay on it???? i have done this in the past on Juan Gonzalez cards and the auctions were PULLED! I am not a Pujols expert,if someone here is, then report it OR stop bitching about it.
