It's too bad Ichiro wasn't picked this year, I think if Ortiz picks him he has a good shot to lead everyone in HR's. This was the year!

No Upton or Stanton- very disappointed.

Me too. I'd like both the players you mentioned that were left out.

Does anyone know how Richie Weeks is in batting practice?

Ortiz should pick Aroid, Teixiera, and Cano; completely screw up their swings

Too bad Ortiz didn't pick Joe Mauer.

Maybe "Mr. $23M" would screw up his swing so bad he could actually perform better than the average backup catcher.

Have fun with the next eight years Minnesota.

He IS hitting 49 points better than the other 3 catchers the Twins have used this year; I guess that is worth the extra millions. Too bad the Twins gave away Ramos and Morales for pretty much nothing (yes, I consider Matt Capps to be nothing). At least we are overpaying Cuddyer, Morneau, Nathan, and Capps too, so Mauer is in good company.

Overpaying Cuddy? Are you kidding?

Would anyone else give him $10.5 million to play Super Punto? I don't think anyone would be drinking the Cuddy Koolaid if the rest of the "stars" weren't hurt/underperforming so much this year. He's making his money based on 2 above average years which happened to coincide with Mauer/Morneau having huge years.

All I know is that picking Weeks over Upton is just dumb...

And for those ripping Mauer, let's wait a while before ripping Minny for re-signing him. ::facepalm::

The number of catchers to win MVP is pretty low.

Apparently Rickie Puts on a show during BP- That's why teammate Fielder picked him- I still can't fathom its better than Stanton or Upton.

Mark Reynolds should absolutely be there. He'd hit 19 HRs in the first round, and still manage to strike out.

Gonzalez should be the one replaced by him.

Gonzalez might be too pure a hitter for this kind of thing.

I have a feeling Bautista is going to put on an absolute show.

In 2009 (St. Louis) he only hit two.

I didn't like his selection even though he's a Mexican and you've seen how much I root for the Mexicans P
