Ugh. Good thing I wasn't watching.

Oh well, time to look towards next year. This is why it is so hard to repeat. I truly think Lidge will be fine next year, Then Madson can be the setup man like he should be. Madson just doesn't have a closers mentality, he throws to many strikes and then misses in the middle of the plate.

And before anyone says I am just being a downer because they lost, I know the Phillies are the best team in the NL, but there bulpen is horrible and the extra three weeks has had an effect on pitchers. It really all stems from Lidge and injuries because everyone else had to change their roles.

I see it as if the Phillies make it they will lose in the first round, if the Marlin make it the same thing will happen because they are full of holes, and there bulpen is on par with the Phillies.

I like the Phils chances much more next year. I am proud though to be a fan of them and I'm happy they didn't role over this year like a lot of WFC!
You really feel they are the best team in the NL? Not the Cardinals... Not the Dodgers...

When the Phillies play like they do when the pressure is on they are certainly better then the Dodgers and I feel can beat the Cardinals(4-1 against them this year, even though they didn't face Carpenter).

I know I am bias, but it is my opinion.

If the giants can outscore them in a three game series at philly then i think its hard to say flat out they are the best team in baseball. If giants had offense they would've swept. I am not saying giants are better or philly is bad, but hey they def aren't the clear front runner.

Wright is still a solid ball player even without his power. You Met fans always put someone down when they are not performing. If Wright actually had someone on the team as good as him, then maybe he would have help. How can you drive in RBI's when you have no one on base in front of you. Even if he has 10 homers that is only one category. Even if he had 30 it still would not make a difference.

Tough year for the Mets.
Wright is one of my favorites though, so I am willing to chalk it up to just a bad season and look towards next year!

Not really sure how anyone can dislike him. Plays the game the way it should be played IMO, and puts in great #'s. 25-30 HRs, 100 rbi, 300+ average.
Like I said we will find out if this season was just an "off" year next year!

if he cracked 25 home runs this year, then there'd be no reason to be down on him.

less than 25 home runs from a power position is unacceptable.

dont give me that "new ballpark" crap either, as Mark Reynolds had no problem hitting
4 home runs there this season in less than 10 games

and David, possibly! LOL
