What a mail day this was. A couple of Ozzie Smith holy grails from my childhood and a whole bunch of other fun stuff was waiting when I got home from my 17 hour shift today.

I inadvertently sold my last raw copy of this Waino (RC) Auto and my last Chrome RC at a show this summer and just been waiting for a decent deal on another one. Got a 9 for less than I sold my raw copy for so I'm happy. These are all mostly offcenter and usually much worse than this one.

A well centered Ozzie RC? Okay. It's got a couple issues that didn't show up in the pictures I was sent but I'll still take a well presenting Ozzie over a 90/10 OC one any day.

1978 Family Fun Centers Ozzie Smith - The Ozzie Holy Grail when I was a kid. I'd never actually seen one in person until I got back into the hobby in 2017.

Some more fun. I love Peanuts. This was a 2014 All Star game redemption offer I think.

I remember going to Family Fun Centers when I was a kid. Before they became Boomers. Never knew they made cards.

Been a while since I had a chance to add any significant autographs to my collection. Last one I needed to complete the 500 hr club ( I’m sure it might be the last one for a lot of people ). Jsa cert with only 3 signatures on a vintage nl ball ( mel ott, Ernie Lombardi - hof catcher - and Frank mccormick ). Probably one of the most underrated power hitters of all time- right up there with Jimmie foxx

Some TCDB trades came in yesterday. Some McCutchen and Harrison, the Phillies card is 6/10:

Some WBB from sets I didn't already have represented:

2022 Archives Mazeroski. I'm a sucker for these as long as it's not a photo that has been reused more than once or twice.

I am on a heck of a hot streak! Bought my 1st Stadium Club hobby box this year got a Romy Gonzalez base RC auto, a Mark Buehrle Red Foil auto 01/50 and...

Case Hit Gold Minted (1:256) Willie Mays!
Mays Gold Minted.jpg

And...
A bonus 3rd auto!

Power Zone Orange parallel (1:10,736) Ronald Acuna Jr. 5/5!!!
Acuna Jr Auto 5-5.jpg

The auto is not the boldest.
So, I went back to the LCS to show them what I got and they had just opened a new case. I couldn't resist. The two autos were Alexander Wells base RC and Drew Ellis Base RC. Then...

Another Case hit!
Bobby Witt Jr. Gold Minted!!!

The 2014 All Star Fanfest Wrapper Redemption set had six cards: Trout, McCutcheon, Cabrera, Jeter, Kershaw, and Mauer numbered WR-1-6. Charlie Brown, numbered WR-CB was a bonus card. A nice nod to St. Paul native Charles Schultz.

And, great Wainos! He is on my auto need list.

Grew up on these, series 1 at least. I am not sure I ever realized there were more. I believe 6 series were produced by the end. I thought I had them all, but series 2 seemed to elude me or be priced higher than other series for some reason.

I ended up making an offer on a set of series 2, then found a 3 series lot that had a great per series price. I won that lot at opening bid, then just my luck, the seller of the single series accepted my offer. Now I have 2 sets of series 2, which is fine because I think I have multiple copies of the other series as well. I may have just completed 2 complete runs when the other purchase arrives.

Fun cards that bring me back. s-l1600.png

These two came in while I was on vacation...I also got a COMC shipment yesterday so I'll be posting highlights of that soon.

121522.jpg

2020 Select Retro Jersey Eckersley goes well with the Holo/75 and Tri-Color/49 versions I picked up earlier this year. The Dilfer is a backdoored sheet-cut 1997 Finest Gold Embossed Refractor card...the legit ones are die-cut. I already had one that was missing the embossing but this one has embossing so I guess I needed it as well.

COMC shipment highlights, part 1:

121622-01.jpg

1999 UD Century Legends Century Collection All Simmons, my first card from this popular set. Also a couple of 1999 Paramount parallels.

121622-02.jpg

1996 Collector's Choice Gold Signature Rickey Henderson...only need one of the McGwire subset cards to complete the team set and the full A's run of 1994-96 Collector's Choice Gold. 1999 Omega Gold 210/299 Kenny Rogers completes the team set. And one for my Alex Cole collection, a 2014 Leaf Buyback card 1/1.

121622-03.jpg

Some nice '90s McGwire stuff I needed. The 1997 Leaf Statistical Standouts is 0689/1000. The 1997 Panini "Venezuelan" sticker is one you don't see too often, they aren't listed by Beckett. I'm not sure why these would have been sold in Venezuela, there's no Spanish on the front or back.

121622-04.jpg
121622-05.jpg

I had been looking for a 1997 Donruss Preferred Staremaster McGwire this year, and when I saw the back of this card I hit the "buy" button right away. 1500/1500.

121622-06.jpg

Some '00s cards. The Finest auto is 21/50 and gets me one away from the team set. The Chavez auto is from 2009 O-Pee-Chee and is one you don't see pop up too often. And the Ziegler RC is /199 so not really a big deal except some of his cards can be very difficult to find, took me a while to nab this one. Still need one other oddly hard to find guy to finish off that team set.

121622-07.jpg

Some cool cards with not so cool players. The 2001 Mirror Gold completes that team set.
