BGS started grading at the end of 1998. I have #16. The first couple of hundred were a test run of 1985 Topps Dave Kingman cards done to test the grading algorhythm and were later given to employees of the company.

December sure has been a PP month for you! lol

Having only Topps in baseball has really changed how I feel about my baseball player collections. I look back at the cards that I picked up for them in 2010 and there aren't many that I'm impressed with. Going back and picking up some Pierce cards has been a breath of fresh air.

It is. With Pierce I'm getting some of the nicer older inserts, autos, rookies and nice base set designs. I have my play collections in baseball to keep some interest on that side. Then I pick up Jerod Mayo cards in football so I get to see what kind of sets are out in that sport. It's a good mix to keep things interesting and I usually find my interest bouncing around between each one. I'll go on stretches where I only focus on one collection, but then if I lose a little interest there I move to one of my other collections.

money

Nah. Look at what TBP does. He's been picking up graded rookies of stars, superstars, and hall of famers starting as low as a couple dollars. You don't have to be a big spender to collect different sports.
