Very true, never really thought of it like that. One thing that really did draw me to the card was the fact that it is 100 years old. I'm sure it would have a good story or two.

Let me start by saying that that is an AMAZING pickup, period.
I have to ask, are you under the age of 25? are you a "prospector"?
if you answered yes to either (or both) of those questions, then im not
surprised to hear that you felt the grade for that card was "bad".
as 69Mets mentioned, if that card could talk, id bet it has some really nice
stories to tell.
Vintage Cards are a whole other ballgame when it comes to condition....sure
huge dollars are paid for "gem mint" condition stuff, but for the most part,
vintage cards have a true history behind them.
Todays stuff, whole different ballgame. Todays cards are made better, packs
are opened with "kid gloves" for fear of damaging the contents. Collectors
have different mentalities then the kids of yesteryear.

I am not under 25...just turned the big 3-0 last month. I am not a true prospector either, I do a little bit of it, not nearly as much as some here. That being said I do almost nothing with vintage just thought this was a nice card.

Glad to hear it. Im 38 and just earlier this year really started to get into vintage slabs.
Thats a fantastic pickup! Im sure it was pretty costly as well. i wouldnt worry about the grade at all, enjoy
the beauty of the card.
Heres a Teddy Ballgame that i own, i love it and dont care that its in "bad" shape

on a more serious note, how much did it cost you if you don't mind me asking? I'm hoping to start picking up some vintage and would love to start gauging prices for stuff.
