Kyle Orton is just a fill in until you draft Mark Sanchez this year. Short term the team takes a fall but long term I think ya'll come out ahead.

I think its a terrible idea to take the teams 2 first round picks and trade up to get Sanchez regardless of how good they think he will be. The Broncos are not a good team and they have tons of needs. While Orton isn't a star, he was very solid last year and will be surrounded with really good WRs in Marshall and Royal. Stick with Orton for a year, draft D help with the picks and see how it goes. If it doesn't work then they will still have 2 first rounders to go after Bradford or McCoy next year.

this is exactly what I'm thinking.......Orton had an OK year with little talent at the WR and TE positions......he's got good WR's as listed above and a TE in Tony Scheffler who is a beast........Orton may turn out to be just as good as Cutler......or maybe he won't.....but he definitely deserves a shot......defense is their main concern.......they could draft a LB and a DT in the 1st round which are bigger needs then QB right now.....if they didn't get a QB then they would need to draft Sanchez.

Its not going to take 2 1st round picks to jump up enough to get their QB.

By the points system, its either their #18 pick and #48 pick or their #12 and the later 3rd round pick (#84) to jump up 2-4 spots for sanchez. I think this is a must.

Basically the trade would be Orton, Sanchez and a 1st round pick for Cutler. A+ in my book. In fact Orton fits into the Mcdaniel's scheme better than Cutler did imo. Sanchez also fits the bill.

Cutler is damn good, but he had talent around him. We'll see how good of a QB he is when he doesn't have a solid WR1 and WR2 in front of him. I think the bears will sign one of the vets in FA (holt, harrison) Draft a WR in 2nd round, and go linemen the rest of the way.

bears definitely need to get a veteran WR in FA....and drafting some young legs won't hurt......Hester has the speed to be their slot.......but don't know if he's got the body build to catch those underneath routes and get hit by a safety on a regular basis......Kyle Orton is going to have a solid year next year IMO....and if he doesn't.....they can always draft a QB in 2010.....but this is 1 foot back out of the grave for the Broncos.....so they have to be somewhat happy that they can move forward from here.

Now how high do you have the Broncos trading up to get Sanchez?? I've read a lot lately saying he could go as high as 4 to the Seahawks. If that is the case then I'd think they would certainly have to move 2 first round picks, with maybe one of them being next years. Its just seems pointless to get Orton and then still go out and draft a QB with so many needs. It just seems pointless to trade for a very servicable QB only to go out and trade draftpicks so you can draft another QB. I could see if it was a no brainer guy but there seems to be a lot of questions about Sanchez. Just wait until next year where from my understanding there will already be at least 2 guys, Bradford and McCoy, that would have graded out higher than Sanchez if they decided to come out.

I guess you're right. I've always had Seattle Taking crabtree or the best remaining lineman since Walter Jones is getting old. I guess I have been reading too many mock draft that have instilled the idea of the 49ers taking Sanchez.

It may be pointless looking forward, however if Orton flops or has injury trouble (remember last year) They may need someone who can sit to make sure that their offense will be good to go. They could have a situation like the Chargers with Brees/Rivers, browns situation now etc.

I disagree about McCoy grading higher. Bradford will definitely grade higher but I think McCoy is doomed for the 2nd-3rd round.

dirty is far from a sure thing

If I am looking for a NFL quarterback, There are many guys I would take ahead of him.

but yeah.....QB is a huge gamble....while I think he's got the best chance of being something great out of the QB's that are left after Stafford.....it's still a gamble.....Denver needs D.......D as in Defense....not D as in Dirty Sanchez

Lets dont forget McDaniels tried to trade Cutler for Cassel. You can bet money he is going to find his guy, prolly this year maybe next year, that he can mold and sculp. Highly doubt that person is Orton. He will be serviceable right now while McDaniels trains someone.

Exactly. Orton is a temporary fix. Like others have said, Orton is "solid" but Denver can do better. Eventually..

I would be shocked if Denver wound up with Sanchez. Why is his stock so much higher now than it was when he was actually playing games?

he's had awesome Combine and Pro Day performances....but think Denver will have to trade up in front of Seattle if they want him....the Seahawks have taken a liking to Sanchez as of late......on another note....McDaniels is a ******....he screwed this whole thing up.
