This card is very special to me, it was the first GU card I ever pulled! so this giveaway will be a little different, this card will go to whoever can PROVE to me that it will stay in their collection forever... I want it to go to someone who wont sell it! so just post a small response of why you deserve this card. contest ends tonight!

I would absolutely LOVE the card. Not for me, but for my girlfriend. She just recently started collecting a couple months ago and she chose to really collect Ichiro. She loves "Game-Used" cards and I know she would keep it in her collection forever. She pulled a Dick Vitale Auto out of A&G and I told her to sell it so she could get a nice Ichiro or two but she doesn't want to sell what she pulls in packs haha. Anyway thanks for the contest!

Id keep it because I dont have any GU base cards and as much as I hate Jeter, you have to like his playing ability. Ichiro did what nobody else ever did to the start of his Major League Career. Plus its a cool card. I also never sell gifts people give unless I have 2 of the same thing and then I sell the original one I had. I still have an Eric Dickerson base card a friend gave me about 15 years ago because he didnt see so well and thought it was a Chargers card (was actually rams) but I still have it, booking at a stunning 25 cents. HE thought it was a nice Chargers Rookie card I think. Still means a lot since he was relatively poor and wasnt able to buy cards often.

I plan on encasing it in carbonite and putting it on my wall in the palace throne room.

I applaud you for the give-away, but if you're concerned about what the winner does with the card then I highly advise you to keep the card. Give away something that you can "severe ties with", with no regard to what happens to it later. You're setting yourself up here for disappointment (at some point).

If you think about it, it's not completely fair to the winner either to never be able to move the card if he/she wants to. After all, it's now their card not yours.

Good luck.

I would enjoy it because it will look great in a magnetic and team bag and will make a nice display piece. I never sell anything anyone gives me. I still have some 80's Bears cards that were given to me when I was younger and I do my best to keep them around

I would also enjoy it because I don't have anything of either player and while I don't like Jeter, I respect what he did for his organization and the game of baseball. I also loved to watch Ichiro play back when we had more baseball on our TV plan.

I know that is similar to Tom's post, but we feel the same way I guess

In any case, that's for the opportunity!

I spend enough time outside. When my dads off of work we play baseball a lot, but that rarely happens. I have no one to play baseball with when hes not off. And I dont see you criticizing the adults who spend a lot of time on here.

Thanks to Upthealley I am slowly starting an Ichiro pc. Highlight is the 2001 Ultimate Collection auto rc and a Topps gold refractor. I never sell gifts and Ichiro is an expensive guy to collect. Nice gesture on your part.

I won't personally keep it but I have a little cousin that lives in Seattle and loves the Mariners. I've been putting together some base and some GU/inserts for him. His favorite player is Ichiro and I'm sure he thinks highly of Jeter too. He's young and you definitely enjoy it.

Thanks.
