even though i am a knick fan, i am a huge derrick rose fan. he has def. improved on his scoring at almost 4 points + from last year. However, not until recently, his assists per game stands a bit lower than his rookie year at 6 per game.

i thought going into this season, his assists would be much improved but i can understand that he doesn't have a pure scorer on his team with luol deng? being the closest and of course, no more ben gordon

now, although i do not see any warriors or thunder games, i always look up these two player's stats. stephen curry and russell westbrook

stephen curry's stats are ridiculous, especially the last 2+ weeks....and for a rookie? all i can say is wow!!

russell westbrook....yes, he has durant. that alone is like 5 assists per night for westbrook. lol! however, his scoring has improved as well

so with that said, i still believe rose is a better overall player (maybe because i am a fan!) but curry and westbrook.....purely by their stats, do you think they are the better overall player or are their stats that much better because of their surroundings? warriors being all scoring and no defense while thunder has durant!

if rose played for thunder or warriors, would his hobby love still be as strong as it is now?

would curry's or westbrook's hobby love be stronger while they put up worse numbers then they do now BUT play for the bulls?

I think Curry is exciting now because he's still a rookie. The attention put on you decreases significantly once you are a second year player especially since people are expecting a certain level of play. So I think Curry benefits from this.

Winning matters as well. Curry may be putting up good numbers cause he is getting the opportunity to play, he wouldn't have that chance on a playoff bound team. That's why a lot of rookies in this year's class appear to be playing well- cause they are actually getting some minutes on some really bad teams, so it's easy to stand out.

Westbrook will ALWAYS be overshadowed by Durant - Kevin is the league's next one behind lebron and Kobe. He will not get premium hobby love.

Drose plays for one of the best teams for exposure, thanks to MJ. He has mad skills as well. It's hard to argue that Curry would be as hot as Rose was if he played for the Bulls. On the contrary, I think Rose would still be pretty popular despite being on the warriors, perhaps it has something to do with being the number 1 overall pick in a draft.

I still say Rose based on himself with all other factors not included such as team name and teammates.

Then again, i'm biased, as are you ;) :

It wasn't pack-pulled by me, technically. Ugh, it's a long story- let me know if you want to hear the details. This one, however, was pack pulled by me, and is now gone from circulation:

So I pull the CP3 from a sealed case, and guess what's missing? I've seen the 1/3 and 2/3 CP3 on ebay, so I assume this was supposed to be the 3/3. I contact UD and they tell me to send the card in and they'll see what they can do to get it stamped. I tell them I want the card back if they can't do it and they so OK and they'll send in some extra "goodies" for my trouble if they can't. So a month passes and they let me know that they can't get the card stamped, and worse off, they cannot send the CP3 back to me because "it wasn't supposed to be released in packs" -whatever that means. Now they claim they did some background digging and claim that the 3/3 CP3 is still in packs or hasn't surfaced yet, and the one I pulled was a "extra" copy to be used for "replacements"- again, whatever that means.

So i'm pretty pissed off, but they know I've been a good customer, so they offer me the Rose as a replacement. I'm still steaming, then I figure since they are essentially holding the CP3 hostage and I will never see it again anyways, I might as well take the Rose before the company goes under, and I get stuck with nothing.

I'm really hesitant and skeptical at first, cause, wasn't this Rose supposed to be in packs? And what in the world is UD doing with the card to use as an exchange? This story has just simply become too fishy. Their explanantion was that they always open a certain amount of each product to be used for "promotional" purposes, kind of like the AP 1/1 exquisite that was pulled out of their box break and the Payton/Piccolo dual cut auto as well.

The Rose was originally supposed to be a redemption inserted in packs, and apparently, Rose collectors never had a chance at it, period.

So you've got pissed off CP3 collectors who have this "unauthorized, unnumbered" version of this super high end exqusite card simply vanish from circulation, and you've got pissed off Rose guys who never had a shot at the exquisite number pieces 1/1 card. I was fuming for weeks after this whole situation, but I think i'm finally more settled about it.

The good thing about the Rose is that it is his ONLY Exquisite number pieces in existence (they didn't have this subset in 2008-9 exquisite BK), so that in itself makes it unique. Add that to the fact that his jersey number is 1, which makes the card a TRUE 1/1 because they only make as many as is numbered to the player's jersey number (allegedly), then that makes this a pretty awesome card, and possibly arguably more valuable than the CP3 would have been, even though the CP3 has sicker patches and is currently the more popular player.

So there's the whole debacle in a nutshell- opinions?

omg....1st off, you made out like a bandit in my opinion...

2ndly, that absolutely blows that a #1/1 was sent to you as a replacement which means that card was never intended to be packed out since you said it was to be a redemption?? which means either the redemption card was never inserted OR some poor soul will pull that rose #1/1 redemption and will never ever get it... ::facepalm:: ::facepalm::

3rdly, this is odd but i've had a similar case as well. check the below post that i started last year....im sure you never saw this but it will explain it all

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=43687

4thly, um...my bday is coming up??  that rose is sick sick sick sick....

Dude, Dave, I had no idea a similar thing happened to you, AND they actually stamped your card for you!

They told me stamping would be impossible at this time and that they never have cards stamped after they've been released, so obiviously they are being inconsistent.

I can understand for a 1/1 there is no doubt the serial number should be 1/1.

If my CP3 was a 1/1, they probably would have just stamped it, but since they couldn't verify that it was a 3/3, they weren't going to take that chance. Basically, tough luck for me- I really liked that CP3, but the longer I've owned the Rose, the better I feel about it's value in trade. I didn't think it was fair at first, cause I never had a choice. But oh well, hopefully things turn out ok in the end.

Also the fact that restapming the card was out of the question at this time implies to me that they won't be using their presses/printer for that much longer, ie, I was really concerned about UD going under and leaving me high and dry. So i'm really glad I got something in hand, and a Rose collector's dream card (though many CP3 fans acknowledged that they would rather have the unauthorized CP3).

Oh, and happy b-day soon, but you're not getting the Rose....  nice try!
