If its Pc you did fine if its something you are going to get rid of down the Line Then you Overpaid. I offered the Guy 260.00 and I thought I was over paying a bit and then it was gone.
I paid 162.00 for my 1/1 but I like the Absolute Blacks and was willing to pay 100.00 More for one.

Whether you Overpaid or not you still have a sick card!

Yea, i figured it would definetely get $250-$300+, and figured there is always one clown out there that outbids me on some of the nicer stuff I bid on...and I don't know why, but I have been being outbid on a lot lately...

Yea Mike, It a sweet card for sure and will look good with your other Blacks. I Bid on all Blacks when ever possible and have a pretty Goods sum of them (Both Hofers and Current) and always love adding one to the collection. As for The clowns out bidding you, you have to go higher man especially if it something you really want. I dont know if running a poll is always good as much as you just being happy with the card no matter the price. I remeber when you bought the Ozzie Bird and show it and everyone told you you over paid and all of a sudden the same guy that had it was selling it again. Now thats between you and the seller but you cant allways listen to people. I overpay for some of my stuff but I really dont care as it is Pc for pretty much the rest of my life. Now when you overpay you cannot always expext that someone will buy it for what you paid or more and will more than likley take a loss should you decided to sell it. As for who would know about the Blacks I am not sure but I own about 43 of the Black TOTT's and I am still wrong about pricing all the time.

I've owned 2 Mays 1/1's, 1 being a Timelines Auto 1/1 that I picked up for a flat $200, the other being a Timeless Treasures Dual Tag Bat Auto 1/1 that I bought for $350 and sold for $350. IMO, I'd rather have the autos, especially the 1/1 tag bat auto for only $30 more.

would love to see the patch auto 1/1 for $350. was it sticker? I prefer patch only unless it is on-card. I only have 2 stickers (besides rookies), and don't plan on buying anymore stickers...hate them! I saw a patch auto sold for $430 the other day, but it was a sticker also.

Hey how much was that musial auto tott in the other thread...that card kicked ass. I actually had it in my hand for a short period as collateral on a loan..I didn't know he was going to sell it, or i would have offered...

I will tell you about how much he paid, because I origanally won that Musial Black TOTT Quad auction style for 206.00 and change back in Nov of 2009 (Not sure when you had it?) I paid immediatley and the seller never sent me the card. When I filed a claim I noticed a different seller Put the Card up for a buy it Now for either 275.00 Or 300.00 or inbetween that which someone had hit (Assume it was Pujolsthomefan33) since he had the card before he sold it. I am not sure what the pricing will tell you but that is what I know.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if I saw this card run at auction and pull $550-$600. My bank account was close to going in the red so I had to unload something. It still makes me sick that I had to part with it considering my PC is pretty small.

So if you own so many of the blacks, did you see the stargell for $500+ ?
Many consider Mays as the best all around player of all time...not sure I did so bad...plus it seems like the poll has it split down the middle..
I am happy with it, and will hold on to it until i sell off the entire collection, some time when I retire....for now it's keeping me out of the bars (grin).

I hated the *** holder, and I hated the stickers but you can't really do a whole lot about the stickers if you want a Mays Auto. I love the design of the card though.

I may have more than that but just a rough guesstimate as I dont count all my Blacks everyday. Yes I saw the Stargell and Bid on it for 400.00 and lost. I bid on it because of the 6pc factor and rarity but like the Person said earlier 2 Player collectors bid on it and thus drove the Price up. Now you would think that Mays (Being that He is a 10x Better player than Stargell) would fair better but you would be suprised what some of the Lesser Hofers bring in. For example I just won a Richie Ashburn dual Bat Patch (Plain Patch of all things) for 100 and change auction style. Now I bought the Pujols, Carew, Nolan Ryan, and Bob Gibson from the same set and numbering for 25-40 dollars less. Who the heck is Richie Ashburn :lol: He is a lower tier Hofer who does not have many Patch cards out. Now that is sorta the same for Stargell, as Willie Mays has many more patches than Stargell (And mays doesnt have a ton to begin with) and thus sometime people will pay more for a players Like Stargell (Obviously Depending on the Item) than Mays. I personally think its crazy but that is ebay for ya.

Not off hand but I do have some of my recent Black Pick ups scanned and since I have a new scanner I am slowly rescanning the collection. When I Get them scanned I could do a show off possibly or just send you a Pm. I usally just post 1 huge mailday every couple of months and then do not show the collection again as most everything I pick up is PC. I went after TOTT Pretty hard years ago and have since slowed down as I pick up different cards from other sets. I know I have over 250+ Memorbilia cards from TOTT and at one time was going after the Jumbo Jersey set (I am not even Closed as I only have about 80+ of those).
